They left the nest already. I never gave them names.

The garage door motor knocked down the nest, and they all died, didn't they?

Lol I was genuinely worried about that for a few days. Whichever parent was watching the next would just fly over to the fence while it opened and flew back after I had left. Nothing ever happened to the eggs/chicks, though. Eh, maybe their offspring will be a bit slow.

That's pretty cool, but how did they get in there?

That ain't a really ideal place for a nest if you ask me :marseyshook:

The back of my garage opens to a small backyard. It's a townhome.

That makes it perfect for them. I'm actually going to build a birdhouse and put something up over the garage door motor to dissuade them from nesting there again.

Ah, cool.

Maybe they'll go for the birdhouse, but I'm not sure; those birds prefer their open spaces

Reference: Had two straight years where a robin nested and raised kids on a wreath in my backyard.

I have no idea what birds were male or female. I'm not one of those bird nerds.

robins are almost impossible to s*x. sometimes the females are a little duller than the males, but not always

Do they both puff out their chest? One of them did that a bit when it first encountered me but calmed down. They'd just watch me do my stuff in my backyard while chirping every 5 seconds or so.

typically that’s a way for them to stay warm, but also if a bird feels threated, it may fluff itself up to appear bigger

They were a lot more chill than I'd expect, tbh. Not that they could really do much.
