https://old.reddit.com/r/Transgender_Surgeries/comments/me8umd/i_thought_ffs_would_change_my_life_but_not_like

After about 2 years of waiting, I finally got medi-cal to cover FFS and they referred me to someone I'd never heard of and couldn't find much information about online, Dr. Alex Kim in Beverly Hills. I walked in to California Hospital in downtown LA the morning of the procedure feeling hopeful for my new future, then afterward spent a long night in a recovery room begging the nurses to loosen my head bandages because they were so tight under my chin that I couldn't swallow or speak without pain and felt I couldn't breathe properly. The nurses pretty much told me to stop complaining, that my blood oxygen was normal so I was breathing fine. One of them said "you need to calm down, you just had a major surgery, if it was easy everyone would do it." Another told me I had already lost a lot of blood and if they loosen the bandages I might bleed out and since I'd already had a transfusion they wouldn't be able to give me another. Another noticed my left arm was limp, which I thought was just due to laying on it weird. They said I may be having a stroke and I need to calm down if I didn't want to end up in the ICU. The next morning I was discharged, my brother drove me home but once I got inside was having trouble breathing because I was swallowing too much blood and couldn't spit it out into the trashcan fast enough. I told my brother to call 911 so they could hopefully open my airway. Paramedics arrived and noticed my limp left arm and suspected I may be having a stroke, then they drove me back to California Hospital ER which transferred me to Keck USC hospital which ultimately saved my life. Doctors there preformed an emergency tracheotomy to allow me to breathe again despite the severe swelling in my neck and did imaging to confirm that I had indeed sufferred a stroke in my right frontal lobe, after which a neurosurgeon put in a stent to clear the clot. When I awoke I could not even open my eyes, all I could do was listen to the medical staff all around me commenting on how 30 is so young to have a stroke and how much of a shame it was for all this to happen to me for cosmetic surgery. I couldn't speak either to explain to them that this was not a cosmetic procedure but was medically necessary.

Turns out that during the mandible reduction, something went wrong and caused severe trauma to my carotid artery resulting in significant bleeding, all of which resulted in a stroke and brain damage. Now I can't use my left arm. I can't play games or type or work or tie my own shoelaces. My eyes are also different sizes now, with one dilated more than the other and I have some difficulty focusing or looking at bright light. I'll need to take blood thinners for the rest of my life to ward off a second stroke. I feel like my life is ruined. I don't know how to process all of this, I feel such regret. It's so hard knowing that if I could have just accepted the way I looked or if I had enough money to choose my own surgeon that I might still have a future now.

Now he got it and is definitely gonna neck himself.

Im guessing sleeping pills. Suitably foid-ish for a train, but also appropriately incompetent for someone who fricked over his life for a cosmetic AGP surgery, and its somethjng you can do without a left arm

I'm always impressed how they always manage to make the worst part of their story small shit like that.

I had a fricking stroke

but the real kicker was that i had to teach the bigot doctors that it wasnt a cosmetic surgery!! it was medically necessary!!!!

that sounds like a you didn't brush your teeth properly problem, and are suffering the consequences ... not a government should pay for it problem.

When I lived in town, my teeth were fine. Moved to the country (well water) and despite no change to brushing habits, developed several cavities and needed two extractions in three years. Moved back to the city and no cavities since. Flouride is miracle stuff.

Something about acidic saliva and weak enamel so even with brushing, it's like I'm constantly drinking soda

Darn, that sounds grim as frick.

The water where I live now is SUPER chalky, it takes 2x as much time to cook in water (things like pasta/rice) than what I'm used to. Hope it won't frick me up :marseybong:

i've been drinking mostly distilled water for the past 2 yrs, not that anyone drinks tap water in the philippines.

i floss, brush, and use mouthwash in that order every night before i sleep. and i try not to rinse my mouth out with water until maybe 10 mins after to give residue time to kill things off. i recently went to the dentist after 2.5 years and while i did have moderate plague buildup and gingivitis from not getting dental cleanings ... no cavities.

Even in healthcare """utopias""" dental work is usually not covered by universal/single payer healthcare, unless you are dirt poor... so are you poor?

I earn almost 200k and hate my job, the first thing I did when I hit 20 was pay to get my teeth perfected. They were already pretty good since not anglo genes (lol) but my canines were fang tier. I had a few weird girls in school say it was hot and vampire like but I always do the exact opposite of what foids tell me to, it's why I'm so successful.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

That's not even close to being true.

Dental work is covered as long as you have a history of going to the dentist.

And any medical work that's actually necessary is of course covered.

Burgers act like they know things about other countries, but have never lived in one.

Are you r-slurred? In germany its paid by your health insurance, which is usually private if you aren't poor... Just like in the US. The semi private mandatory insurance still requires you to pay monthly so again, just like if you were insured in the US.

And the basic insurance only covers regular maintenance, you'd still get fricked if you needed 10k$ worth of intense work.

That's again where you're wrong because you read some r-slur site like "iamexpat" that you Googled in two seconds.

That doesn't make you a sudden expert on a subject.

The semi private mandatory insurance still requires you to pay monthly so again, just like if you were insured in the US.

The two are not comparable. Again you're an idiot babbling on about things you don't know or understand.

you'd still get fricked if you needed 10k$ worth of intense work.

No? If it's medically necessary for you to get the work it's covered. Always.

I know that's hard for you to understand.

If it's Invisaligns that you want cause your teeth look bad since you don't go to the dentist (aesthetic) that's on you.

Purely aesthetic procedures aren't in the GKV, but you can get an additional insurance for ~30 Euros a month to cover 100% of costs.

If you have a history of consistently going to the doctor you will always have costs covered since Single Pay Systems want you to go to the doctor as preventative procedures and measures keep total costs way down.

I've got my PKV which has a lot more included than the basic GKV, but if you've got GKV you can get all the same benefits with like two additional private insurances that cost next to nothing.

And for 8-11 Euros a year you can get traveler's health insurance so you've got the same coverage while traveling anywhere in the world since Germans travel for 3-4 weeks at a time unlike trash Bongs and Burgers that can't even manage to get two weeks off at a time.

Frick you are dumb.

I could shit all over ridiculous :marseytrain: and point and laugh every day ... but I agree with you on this one. It's sad.

User has a lot of regrets, and realized the superficiality of his beliefs leading to his actions too late.

who knows if I would have even listened, I was so desperate to get the misgendering to stop I might have rolled the dice anyway.

I wish there were something that could be done about this "disturbing pattern" as you put it, but if it's intentional and systemic I wonder where to even begin pulling on threads

Money is always nice but unless I can buy a time machine I can't get my life back

there's no way it's gonna be worth it in the end.
