Other recent minor patch notes:

  • Birthgay ended at 2022-05-23 05:55 UTC.

  • Confetti is now the weird gold sparkly shit. This is mostly because the old code was bad and hard to maintain. Also this new one is less likely to turn your phone into a space heater. Also it looks sufficiently ghetto that it fits our style.

  • For users with "open internal links in new tabs" enabled in their settings, the appropriate links in the header menu now open in new tabs.

  • .moe URLs are now automagically turned into links.

  • Blackjack: Five Card Charlie rule implemented. If you hit to five cards without busting, you automatically win, no matter what the dealer does.

I'm mostly waiting for someone to get fed up enough with it that they make a better looping, tileable (at least horizontally, alternatively both horizontally and vertically) falling confetti animation with a transparent background. If anyone does so, they'll get some sort of badge and I'll pester Carp to disburse some MBux. If that doesn't happen within a month, then we'll rename it to something suitably obnoxious.

Current one is some 480x341px thing I found on Tenor. All the ones that looked more like confetti didn't tile well—like if a particle went off the left side of the image, it didn't have a matching one coming in from the right, so you could very obviously see the lines between them. Not terribly picky with dimensions so long as it's possible to tile. Artist's choice as to whether it's like the current style just stretched across the top of the screen or if we switch back to it falling all the way down the screen.
