I think the best example of American culture spreading is Halloween.

To give a bit of an example: I grew up in Germany around the 2002-2010. TV was full of American cartoons like Fairly Oddparents, Totally Spies, Spongebob etc. And, around every October, the channels would obviously have specials in regards to holidays, like Christmas, Valentine...and Halloween.

And every year, I asked my parents why we never went trick or treating, like the kids on TV. And every year, my mother would tell me "Because it's not German." Back then, it confused me quiet a lot. If it wasn't German...why did every channel spoke about how Halloween is near? Why did we get specials? Why did my neighbours go trick or treating sometimes? Why did we then carve pumpkins? (answer for the last one; because I wanted to, lmao).

To me, Halloween was so normalized that I first didn't get that she was technically right. Even till this day, Halloween is mainly an "American thing". It's not in our culture. We only became Americanized through media. Overall, we already have our own Halloween -Fasching (from of carneval). It's very similar, though not being about spooky and has more Christian roots.

Growing up in a country where Halloween (best holiday) isn't a thing sounds grim. Glad to see it becoming more widespread in recent years. You're welcome Europoors.

I fricking love Cryptid culture in America, Im an r-slur but every small rural town makes up their local legend to attract visitors, you can't see that and say America has no culture, I'd trade that aspect over many things my country is known in a heart beat.

Only local legends around here are "Oooh spooky ghost lady in ancient castle", we have actual bonafide medieval structures and rundown relics, and the best we got is ghosts and devils...

There was this thing about Mr universe or some rather gay shit i dont remember nor care to find out but the people from each country were supposed to come in an outfit from their culture.

People on twitter were taking the piss out of the UK entry because he wore a suit, Savile Row and the like, these frickers couldn’t comprehend that because a suit is ubiquitous to modern life that it originated from a country they think has “no culture”.

To them only nations who were historically losers have culture.

America has culture and it’s the only culture that matters in the world, but the poster’s examples are depressing. Imagine your only culture being pop culture like capeshit.

Those who says "Americans have no culture" are either jealous Euros and Asian seething at their fading relevance, or dumb American city kids who went too far on the self introspection.
