Finished FF XIV Heavensward last week (well except Savage Alexander and the one raid) and while I liked the expansion I was somewhat disappointed whenever people praised it as their favourite story in the entire video game genre. It surely had its moments but there were also really dull 'go there and do talk to X and then come back' parts. Unsure if I shall buy Endwalker to play the next expansions.
I also replayed Silent Hill 2 for some reason and darn, that's a game you'll never ever forget. Also has the best OST I have ever heard. I'm thinking of watching longplays of the other titles in the series but I am not sure if they hold up as well as 2.

Put on elden ring again. Greatsword is strong as frick now. Dragons are still gay to fight and not fun, and scarlot rot is fricking gay. The trend of "you dodged? Too bad this attack releases AIDS gas/makes the floor explode now run" with this game's bosses is garbage. Really hope it never comes back

I'm liking it a lot more now but i think i'm actually a shitter. A lot of people managed to solo it in the vanilla patch but to me it felt janky and unfair. Some stuff still feels jank like lock on straight whiffing hard especially bows.

I've never been happier to see a game fail so miserably. I played tons of BF4 and wanted 2042 to be great but after playing the beta for 5 minutes I could see the game for the trash it was. Anyone that preordered or purchased deserves the misery they are enduring rn.
I do wish there was a different shooter that was good out rn so I could convince my friends to play something other than Warzone though

People love to b-word and moan that Activision isn't doing enough but since their new anticheat crap went live I can count on one hand how many hackers I've seen in the past 4-5 months. Most of those clips that get circulated on twitter and reddit are low level accounts that get zucced pretty fast and people love to post them for the easy karma they can farm

Kingdom two crowns is tickling my neurodivergent bone. It's literally controlled by three buttons: left, right, and spend money (well, plus later some mounts have an ability and in the dead lands expansion your character has too). It's very beautiful and chill (until it's not).
It had an update recently where they added difficulty levels, so obviously I had to replay it.

Tried Civ 6 the past week and I feel like they did a great job solidifying a lot of the Civ 5 mechanics
And the UI and AI turns are so fricking slow I doubt I'll play it again
I searched for a resource and it has to search like a few thousand tiles, it gives me a progress bar and takes like 15 seconds
The AI takes longer to play trivial early game turns than I do

yeah, i've liked each one better than the last (though i still think the setting of 2, 1945 berlin, is the best so far.). this one apparently has bigger/more open maps than the previous game, which was already kinda big/open, and i'm pretty excited for that.
just getting to wander around a big ol' 1944 french town/countryside shooting dirty germans is gonna be a lot of fun.
my two favorite settings for stuff (books, movies, games, tv, posters, t shirts, socks, potty paper, what ever) are world war 2 and zombie apocalypse. and THEY ALSO MAKE WW2 ZOMBIE SNIPING GAMES.

I ended up in Vivec by accident after casting Almsivi Intervention, and I'm having a nightmare trying to navigate it.

Yeah, Vivec is always a pain in the butt. You'll want to get spells/items/potions of levitation so you can jump off the top floors and fly to your destination. But it's still a pain in the butt. Best decision I made was to go with short blades and get my speed up to 100 as quickly as possible. At least that way you don't waste so much time navigating cities.

Yeah I've been making good use of the boots of blinding speed and an amulet of slow fall. I have a levitation spell but my alteration/mysticism skill (I forget which skill it uses) isn't great.
The boots of blinding speed have been carrying me honestly, I'm playing a heavy armour orc battlemage and while I'm getting faster I'm still pretty slow.

It's interesting actually, the trick is to choose major/minor skills that you are not going to use often. For example, a good idea is to have Spears on misc so that you'll always be able to raise Endurance as much as possible.

The game is broken in so many other ways (those 1-second spells in rings, potions that boost alchemy, casting drain strength on Umbra so he becomes over-encumbered) that there's no real need to minmax, the only thing compelling you to e.g. always raise Endurance by 5 points is autism. So like do it if you like it, don't do if you don't.

There's a game you can play by yourself if you live near an ocean/sea/large lake with a nice gently sloping sandy beach. You run or walk along the waterline, as waves wash ashore and recede, trying to follow the water as closely as possible, but not so close that you get caught by the next wave (bonus points for wearing usual boots that can get drenched).
Some actual games become much more enjoyable if you approach them with the same attitude.

You can "win" the surf game by never getting dangerously close to the waterline. It's up to you to challenge yourself and create a possibility of losing, and the more you challenge yourself, the sweeter is not losing.
Morrowind is similar. You can abuse the alchemy thing to become to be able to one shot anyone or you can abuse it just a bit to get infinite money and crafting ability and turn yourself into a magical cyborg with all sorts of cool but not game breaking effects on your armor and jewelry (including a ring of jumping that you activate for 1 second to jump around Vivec, for example). The latter is much more fun than the former.
