Don't know, this is where my knowledge about him starts and ends, alhamdulillah!
However, this is not really surprising, because there are a lot of black brothas in fighting game communities, my theory for this as someone who grew up as a thirdworldcel is that most of them could have grewn up in poorer homes and communities, so the majority of (or in some cases, the only) video games they had access to were classic fighting games at arcades, malls, chuck e cheese, amusement parks, and whatever else, instead of consoles and PCs in their homes, African-Americans are also much more social than other ethnic groups, so they had higher chances of playing games together with other people, and fighting games are an obvious choice for non-LANcels.
I also had to grow up playing arcade fighting games because in my shithole consoles and/or good gaming PCs are only for rich millionaire kids, but I liked rail shooters way more than fighting gaymes
