Cyber sexual assault is worse than r*pe because in r*pe it is physical whereas in cyber sexual assault it's all in the head and what we know for a fact is that 1) feelings matter and 2) the human mind will conjure far worse images than anything experienced in real life if it is given a gap to fill with our own ideas of what something is supposed to physically feel like. Cyber sexual assault victims are the victims that matter the most because their pain is the most extreme because there is no real experience that anyone can compare it to.

Your comment reminds me of the Black Mirror episode "White Christmas", the only difference being that, in Black Mirror, the offenders could be blocked irl with futuristic technology, leaving them unable to talk to anyone at all if convicted of the worst kinds of crimes. Could be interesting to see if this plays out similarly in the Metaverse.
