Ugh, this infuriates me so much. Crutches have been around for thousands of years, the idea that they need to be so expensive that insurance covers them is so stupid. Good for you for being a light in a very dark situation - well done.
Fricking $18 https://www.amazon.com/Cardinal-Health-CA901AD-Axillary-Adjustable/dp/B00J3YKRKC/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3VBPUZYQ9LSG1
Tell me you’re in the United States without telling me you’re in the United States…
How many pairs of crutches do nationalized healthcare services provide? Why would someone need so many to begin with?
Oh right
jk, Canadians dont get crutches:
When I lived in Canada (Alberta), my parents couldn't afford crutches either. I just went without.
literally on Amazon for $18
More like screw our healthcare system that relies on for-profit insurance companies.
Overall FRICK money
And this is why most of make things, self-reliance. Can't even count of the people whom you pay money to help you in a time of need. Been there so many times....keep on brother. My wife is permanently disabled and I have made and learned to make so many things from necessity, don't count on soulless corporations for help, because they won't.
FAT
and
POOR
God I hate this website I'll figure it out myself.

any thrift store will have a pile of crutches for like $5 - $10
i get that woodworker dudes will be all "i can make that!" and spend 30 hours and $200 in material, but the insurance angle is r-slurred

For so much effort and materials they could've at least painted the crutches in ukraine colors or something lol

Taking advice for anything from rebbit is a terrible idea, u need a Tapatalk thread from 12years ago to learn anything related to being useful. I ask for some help on a new drive belt for my equipment and all I got were pedantic arguments about how I used the wrong term for a drive belt. Even though they knew what I was talking about while correcting me.

I had the same issue awhile back asking a question about some engineering stuff. Rather than answer me they were berating me for not capitalizing the right letters in an acronym despite it being clear as day what I was asking.
It's like all the r-slurs from stackoverflow have migrated over and merged with the reddit mind to create the most insufferably r-slurred thing imaginable.
