Because the idea of gender is a social construct. Let's look at gender roles. For a while, the main idea was that a mom stayed home and did house work while a dad worked a 9-5 job. Now is it wrong for the mom and dad to want to switch roles with the dad doing housework and the mom working the 9-5? Or they could both be working a 9-5 or both being stay at home. Now take that and apply it to other aspects of gender like clothing and the way people act. The only reason some might see this as wrong is because of the societal norms which won't change unless people are willing to challenge them
