i googled and found the children's hospital near me that has to have this warning
because they lack staff so bad that sick kids are waiting 12 hours to be seen, but they for some reason have a whole 'gender diversity clinic'.
seems really useless as you can just get a referral to the endocrinologist from a walk-in anyway, and i can't imagine what else they do other than tell them they're valid (which they don't need to take resources away from sick kids to do)

This was a child/young adult failed by healthcare, but let's not pretend quicker access to a fricking gender appointment would have solved anything. Acknowledgement that it was a mental health issue and then proper treatment would have been a start.
