Kenobi is so badly written that being literally impaled with a lightsaber is no longer a fatal wound.
More screen time for the non-diversity hires isn't going to fix that.

Especially since Ewan mcgregor isnβt a very good actor either.

I donβt know if itβs the writing or his acting or both but every scene mcgregor is in is a stale snooze fest. Baby Leila was annoying about half the time. The black girls acting was pretty decent but her writing was horrible. Honestly The whole series sucked butt and it was NOT because of lack of obi

Yes but when the original ceiling is only a foot off the ground and they still managed to drill a fricking oil well with the new stuff there's definitely some r-sluration going on.

I rewatched the OGs recently and they're okay, but goofy as frick, simplistic, and most of the appeal is the score.
It's complete lunacy that an entire franchise was built out of it. It's a one-trick pony exhausted in 1983. They keep stacking cards on top of a base that isn't there.

I wouldβve settled for at least a limp or something. Instead in the next episode, I literally thought I was missing something because of how perfectly fine she was.

It's absolutely absurd. Not only have major characters died from less, but there was absolutely no reason that she'd be mercifully left alive either.
People aren't mad because she's black, they're mad because being black has been turned into the thickest plot armour we've seen in decades.

There are zero stakes in the show that can go no where.
You can't get rid of Luke and Leia, both of their adopted parents, Obi-wan, or Darth Vader.
All their stories are already complete, the only thing you can do is build up other characters that you introduce.
And they are all boring except the black chick who is immune to lightsabers

Yeah the problem with prequals is you know what will happen. Rouge One worked because you had no idea what would happen to all the characters.

It doesn't always have to be high-stakes.
They could quite easily have done Obi-Wan learning how to be a force ghost and getting in touch with Qui-Gon. Maybe even throw in a bit of Yoda. That'd have been more compelling than the babysitting.

But then you don't expand the universe which is how you grow into new stories

That's lacking imagination. Remember that Mando did a lot for the universe without touching any major characters at all.

Just Disney doing the Disney thing, milking the bloated cow for all its worth. Wonder how much money their reddit social media team is costing them; their stuff reliably hits the frontpage day after day after day.

They should have slowly and gruesomely killed both children and then revealed that they were actually decoy children and the real ones were safe all along.

I watched the first two episodes and was reminded this was a children's show so I stopped watching after that.

Definitely one of the worst things Disney has ever released and considering how bad all their other starshit was they really had to try to make something even worse.

Hey it wasn't all shit. Rogue One was pretty great.
Sequels might as well have been written by a dementia ward though.

I thought the show was okay. I liked the overall plot of Obi-wan having to save Leia, makes the "Obi-wan, you're my only hope" in the OT make more sense. But Leia's character was definitely the worst part of the show. They could've done something interesting with her but instead just made her an eye-roll inducing generic girl boss that only acted like a child once for maybe 10 seconds.
You can definitely see Kathleen Kennedy's dirty prints all over the show but overall it was an okay 5/10 marseystars
That being said the bar for being an okay show in modern media is pretty low.

I don't understand why these people just don't watch the new star wars content. It hasn't been good for years. Just don't watch it, it's that simple. By crying about it you're just opening up the company and fandom to laugh at you. A lot of the views probably come from hate watchers, if they stopped watching they might actually make a difference - just look at what happened over at Netflix HQ
There's so much good EU content out there in the books, just read that if you need your star wars fix THAT bad.

Honestly, I was surprised by how likable Leia is. Normally I hate kids in these kinds of shows because they're stupid and always get the main character into trouble with their dumb behavior, but despite all this you're supposed to care about whether the kid lives or dies for some inexplicable reason (and usually they're so annoying that I'm hoping the kid dies). But the kid in this show is in some ways more clever and resourceful than Obi-Wan himself. She's basically an adorable precocious little con-artist. If I had kids, I hope they'd be like this.
