I've said this before, and I agree with you, but late term abortion is basically a made up issue anyway. Most women aren't going to go through all the struggles of pregnancy, and walk around visibly pregnant for weeks, just to get an abortion halfway through. I think it should be banned for appearances sake, but the only women who get abortions past that point have a medical need, or are way too insane to raise a child anyway

That is my gripe with it aswell, but despite being a stubborn person I compromise on my country's way of doing it. Legal untill end of first trimester and in further stages on medical exceptions like severe r-sluration, physical deformity, etc. I'd love to see a world where fellow men take responsibilty for the offspring they concieve with a woman. Unfortunatly it's increasingly not the case. Life is sacred, but forcing someone through a pregnancy they don't want to have will scar them for life, not to mention what they could do to the newborn in an unhinged moment. So I can't actually reconsile the two sides of myself on this issue.

I do describe myself as pro-life though, because my knee-jerk reaction to someone confiding in me that they are planning an abortion would be to try and convince them otherwise.

1st trimester except in cases where the life of the mother is peril. I’d prefer support for young families or adoption over abortion. I don’t think that abortion should be considered an easy option that doesn’t have consequences. Ending your baby’s life is incredibly heavy and there’s lots of people out there that would make great adoptive parents.

I think an anti-choice stance makes more sense in the developed world (we need more worker ants), but if the doctor ever says my kid is going to be an r-slur if born or I knock a random hoe up, then I’m bringing the coathanger.

I'm more pro-choice (though not necessarily pro-abortion - it's fine if you need to, but I would rather you wear a condom/use a pill/not even have s*x at all to avoid creating baby, if it's not a r*pe/incest/safety of mother case) merely because people are going to be doing it anyway, so why not just let them have actual doctors do the procedure instead of shady guys on Craigslist using old and probably dirty tools?

Ultimately, the decision to overturn it is rather cringe imo (though the seethe is always fun to watch), but there is not much I can do about it. Besides, I live in a blue state, so this probably won't affect me that much.

A good society is one that allows abortions but also knows that it's more of a last-case scenario (and not something to be done willy-nilly), so maybe just do what the Euros do and be done with it?
