I'm also not sure how healthy this is, as I've read that many diseases can be transmitted by the rush of air that comes out of the sewer when you flush the potty.

Depending on the potty, droplets can be carried around the room. It's not about a rush of air or whatever. The concern is mostly about getting doodoo butter drops on your toothpaste, which has been proven to happen. But you each enough doodoo butter during the day that this isn't anything more than a gross factoid and not an actual health concern.
