Traditionally there's a 'secular' party that gets muzzie votes and bjp I think he's talking about up where there were 3 such parties who got in a pre poll alliance so only one would field a candidate in every constituency. But there's a hard core Islamist party called aimim from hyderabad in the south and they ended up fielding candidates too so if pop in a constituency was 60/40 m/h it got split 30/30/40 since 100% of Hindu vote gets consolidated in districts they are a minority in( I wonder why :marseythonk: )

so by-elections happened in Uttar Pradesh in two constituencies. These two constituencies have 45% and 25 % Muslim population. Now two parties who are try to court Muslim votes plus BJP were the major contenders there. So the Muslim votes got split and BJP won in both of those places which is kind of unheard of for both those places.
