It's perfect because it works on percentages. It's 70% hot. We all know what that means. It's 90% hot. Holy shit it's really hot out. It's 30% hot. Fuck it's cold.

Meanwhile, Celsius is like it's 24. What the hell does that even mean? Is it hot? Is it cold? I don't know.
This one got a lot of butthurt replies:

I got redditors really mad when I asked if they said "on a scale of 0-100..." or "on a scale of -18 to 38..."

Fahrenheit is definitely better than Celsius, but they're wrong that it's the only thing that's best. Metric was made by some r-slur not competent to do conversions in their head. It's a sign of being a slow and incompetent, not sure why you would want to brag about that
Metric is essentially the common core math of units

Actually, the Metric system was made by the French because they ran out of things to burn to the ground in the physical realm

The main problem with metric is all the straggy measurement names. "A journey of a thousand kilometers begins with a single step." "Give them a centimeter and they take a kilometer." These words were never meant to be spoken. Metric was made by people who relish in ugliness.

I used to be like a redditor and wonder why Americans couldn't switch to metric and then I realized that imperial units were developed over the years as units of measure that people find useful in their day to day to life. The metric is like that weird calendar they had with Thermidor except they got rid of that after a decade.

Metric makes way more sense for scientific measurements and engineering, but imperial really is the way the human brain thinks of things. They're measurements that make sense to monkeys

This was true 200 years ago but most of the official references for imperial units were lost in a fire hundreds of years ago and the rest were shrinking, nobody knows what an original foot or yard was. Modern imperial units are actually just arbitrary variations on metric units.

The main reason is all our industrial factories run off it and it would cost billions maybe even trillions to convert everything. Especially when it comes to our military shit that we're constantly repairing.
Though that doesn't explain why new factories don't convert, but a lot of that is probably so it's in sync with other factories so they can trade parts and shit. It's a bit of a "sunk cost fallacy" but it also makes euro seethe so it's worth it

Itโs genuinely dumb how trivially snooty people get about it considering all the upper-level STEM courses in America only use metric; I now have a better intuitive grasp of force in newtons like a dork rather than psi. Theyโre never happy.

Don't worry I actually agree, I had a whole class in Engineering that was basically dedicated to learning how to convert some our more obscure industry units. Incredibly stupid but absolutely no one is going to fund making the switch, it's too integral to about everything so they have to teach it

How many inches are in a foot?
Jump in the discussion.

Well see what you do is each toe is about an inch and so you add up all the toes across the feet but you have to remember that the O'Malley clan they all have twelve toes and since they ran the county seat from 1329-1754 there are twelve inches in a foot.
Imperial units are simple, really

I legit hate this shit, ambient temperatures stop at 40, so you have 60 more degrees until "boiling" that don't matter. What was the last thing you described that was between 50-90c? Nothing, they're never used.
Water boils when there's bubbles coming out of it you stupid European cuck, who gives a shit what temperature that is? You're not sticking a thermometer in a saucepan when you're making ramen.
