Basically 2020 already was the year of "Shit on Whyte People", leftie Jews knew this. They went offense on the Whytes and defense by saying they are Jews, not WASPs. Because the majority of "progressives" spent the majority of 2020 hating on white people, and the majority of American Jews are either borderline agnostic reformists or straight up atheists who are overwhelmingly liberal and care more about politics than religion. As for why it died down, probably mostly due to the BLM protests ending, but I also think a lot of upper- and middle-class minorities realized around the time of Stop Asian Hate that minority unity doesn't exist in the real world and that black nationalists don't give a shit that your mother is Jewish or that you're three quarters latinx - they're going to hate you either way
