"Spreading Communism" is just the post ww2 way of framing forcing an economic system on other countries that allowed the U.S.S.R politiburo to control them and their natural resources through military sales and conditional "aid" where they always had the upper hand. It wasn't the colonialism of before but it was still economic imperialism.
