I don't think he did well as his supporters think he did, even though I generally agreed with much of what he said I thought his answer to that small business owner was dismissive and horrendous and the debate was supposed to be about Obamacare but he still kept pushing his Single Payer Plan that has no chance of ever passing in Congress. I think Cruz also wrecked him in explaining on how there's no way we could afford Bernie's idea. If Bernie ran in the general election he would have to explain to swing state voters how his Single Payer plan is going to work when the same plan was tried but failed in his home state of Vermont because it was too expensive and constantly repeating it works in Finland and Denmark isn't going to convince those rural rust belt blue collar workers who doesn't give a shit about Europe and hope he doesn't bungle his answers it like that disastrous New York Daily News interview where he had no clue on how to break up the banks. Also many people may agree with the concept of Universal Healthcare in theory but they sure as hell don't want their taxes raised to pay for it which is why when Single Payer was on the ballot in Colorado in the last election it was overwhelmingly rejected 80-20 despite going blue.
He wouldn't be my first choice but I'd vote for him if he was the dem nominee.
Of course I would vote for him over Trump if he were the nominee but it doesn't mean we still can't be critical of how him and his supporters acted in the primaries and some of them are still acting right now. They're talking about challenging conservative Democrats like Joe Manchin with a progressive who has no chance of winning a state like West Virginia and will just hand another Senate seat to the Republicans and we should work to prevent something stupid like that.

A core group of supporters were naive young college students who never payed attention or experienced a previous election before so they bought into the stump speeches that promised free shit and then believed everything was "rigged" during the primaries whenever things didn't go their way. The primaries was nothing like the 2008 where it was much closer between Hillary and Obama, last year's primaries was basically a land slide loss for Bernie and he should have dropped out much earlier rather than drag it out longer which turned more of his supporters against Hillary and hurt her chances of winning the general. So yeah, this generally why ESS still hates Bernie Sanders and why the sub still exist.
