The British Empire didn't go the way of Rome though. It died, sure, and Rome died, sure, but they died completely different deaths. So of course Reddit's going to disappear eventually, but not necessarily in the same way as Digg.
Could you imagine how this will work out for hated users on this site like yourself? Making the profiles "followable" makes it easier for people to stalk profiles and shit. All the Prince clones and LWSE users could be watching you 24/7 now if this feature goes live for everyone.
