Not World War II, as it didn't touch the Korean peninsula enough for it to matter. Not the Korean War, as most of the fighting took place in the South and not the North, and even if it took place equally- again, it didn't- that would still mean the North and South were equally devastated but one would not only still have residually more infrastructure and more importantly a better trained populace.
But that's not even the case, the South was where 90% of the fighting took place so of course not all of the infrastructure in the North was destroyed. And they still had the trained workforce.
You're all about facts and education, ostensibly, but your only defense in the face of an actual study is "They're just pulling thing from their ass"? Anyone who's studied this knows the North was more industrialized, you just look crazy when you deny it.

The Korean War's front lines shifted dramatically over the course of the war and there was a fuck of a lot of aerial bombing outside of the front lines (it wasn't 1850, you know).
That whole "industrialized" thing is a red herring anyway. How would the two countries have similar rates of GDP growth as well as GDP itself if they had a radically different level of industrialization to start with and were both relying on catch-up growth? Riddle me that one since everyone is apparently an economist now.
