It was actually History of Philosophy. You learn the subject but mostly focused in five phiosophers. In my case they were Plato, Augustine of Hippo, Descartes, Marx and Wittgenstein. We had some texts to analyse too. In Marx's case it was the communist manifesto, the pages must be at home somewhere.

Ideally, the leader of the party must be part of the working class. The problem of separating the elite (leaders) from the masses (members) is a big mistake. But you know, internal conflicts might lead to purges... which is what Stalin did.
