Karen Page was also a portrayal of a responsible gun owner that argued in favor of the second amendment.
Honestly I thought the series did a very mediocre job of tackling a complex issue but overall I really thought it had more of a right-wing lean on the issue which genuinely surprised me. Other than the cartoonishly conservative guy you mentioned, it really didn't seem to be that insulting to pro-gun people.
