To use one of 'their' words, I see sealioning as a form of derailing. Basically, if you hurl abuse at someone in response to a statement you're told you're too aggressive and harassing. If you ask politely, that's 'sealioning' which is also bad because you're making someone go through emotional labour to answer your question. Case in point I once questioned some SJW author on their positions and they gave me a curt reply saying it was too much emotional labour for them to answer me. And therein is the real intent: duck out of answering questions while making themselves a victim of the questioner regardless of what they do.
