My coworker was talking about this the other day, he used to work down on the rigs in Louisiana. I had no idea people down there just referred to themselves as coonass but I can definitely report from his experience that black people do NOT like being called that, for whatever reason.

Eugenics works, and works very well and very quickly. Most of Europe and the US was heading in this direction prior to WWII. If it wasn't for the Nazi's pushing it to the limits and losing the war, it would be pretty much normal today.

There are potential issues with it at a long term genetic level (todays genetic trash may have function in bad times), but as a concept, done voluntarily there is nothing really wrong with it.

Lets say you were a carrier of a very bad and costly genetic disease, by costly I mean cost to society, where your children could have life long medical bills which end up getting paid for by the state.

Rather then our current welfare system which basically pays you for having children you can't afford, this would be more like a basic income system which pays you for not reproducing. You would still have the option to, but now you have a financial incentive not to.

Someone I know well is a carrier for a very bad degenerative eye syndrome. Two of her children will most likely be legally blind by 40. She knows this condition is in her family. Now, assuming the genetic loci was known for this condition (I personally don't know if it is yet), and she went into a pregnancy program that eliminated a fetus either after normal conception or in vitro prior to implantation, boom eugenics.
