Cuban becomes an American citizen: "Congrat, probably should've chosen Canada." spawns 150+ children.

It's incredible how fast liberals became unaware mirrors of mothers who wanted Eminem censored in the 2000s.

Do Canadians ever get tired of drinking their own cum? Canada is fucking boring and cold. They have three livable city's and those are ungodly expensive and the rest of the country is a deserted frozen shithole. There is a reason no one lives there it fucking sucks, so go on thinking its some great place just because you give 60% of your income to taxes so some old lady in Yellowknife can squeeze six more months of dying of cancer in.

That's hot af tbh

That's hot.

Reddit and the internet at large has caused me to strongly dislike Canadians. They seem to have this idea that they posses ownership to disparage Americans as a single entity, while embodying everything they criticize about the US.

White Canadians never thought racism was ever a problem. We are taught from a very young age (or at the very least my generation and before--I'm a middle millennial) that Canada is a shining beacon of progressive ideals, from the Underground Railroad to the invention of UN Peacekeeping, and when a problem does arise it is of the past. And in the background of this is the implicit comparison to the USA, in which our fall back is always 'we are better than them, at least'. It's a almost perfect ideological mill that almost never challenges the presentation of that ideology (or, at least, from my generation back, what I'm hearing is this was changed for the better when it comes to education).

All this, I believe, primes a lot of socially privilege Canadians to overreact badly when confronted with the truth: Canada has always been on the forefront of depravity, especially in the treatment of First Nations. The Nazis studied our eugenics program here in Alberta, and the South African Apartheid based it's homeland system off of our reservations. What you're referring to here, specifically, are known as the Saskatoon freezing deaths, and the extended far beyond just Saskatoon. This was a common practice throughout the Prairies--my grandpa called them starlight tours, and they happened for decades (and continue to happen) and was usually the punishment for being drunk out in the open. Frostbite, sickness, and death for daring to be poor and drunk.

And I could go on for hours about all the ways Canada sucks but I won't bore you. All-in-all Canada is in someways good--there are things to be proud off, but I feel like acknowledging that often comes with the caveat of not acknowledging that in a lot of other ways we are very, very bad. Like, for example, like maybe a month ago a post here said something to the effect 'Halifax is the best dirtbag left city', which ignores not only it's history, it is the city of Africville, but its very real ongoing struggle with racism. There is a real sense of Canadian fragility when it comes to acknowledging past crimes and on-going crimes.

(Also Toronto, while it might be demographically very deserve, is plague by the overarching power structures of society, from racial profiling, to the inability to take the concerns of marginalized communities seriously. Edit: also I should probably mention Rob Ford, Trump before Trump.)

Yeah, like I'm supposed to be impressed that a country of beaver pelts, snow, terrible beer, and docile immigrants has shitty universal healthcare and an non threatening boy band reject for a leader?

Their population doesn't even exceed that of California, and they didn't have the balls or the charm to bring in the same numbers of retarded troublemakers in to shake things up.

Why do you assume that every pro-Canada ra ra comment on the internet is by a Canadian? I've seen plenty of Americans disparaging their own country and holding Canada up as some utopia.

Americans disparaging their own country and holding Canada up as some utopia.< Canadians on /r/canada do enough of that themselves that they don't need Americans doing it.

I actually thought

holy fuck 150 children this guy is a sex maniac

The Day Of The Rake can't come soon enough.

Imagine immigrating to the country of your dreams only to have some overly privileged edgy white kid shit on you for your hard work and dedication because you didn’t choose their shitty country.

Any evidence they're actually Canadian though and not just an edgy American annoyed at the state of affairs in their own country? Going through their post history gives zero indication they're Canadian. Just a boatload of posts in /r/politics.

Not really, there’s a few Eurotrash posters but they all spew the same talking points about the “positives” of their country vs immigrating to the US.

just an edgy American annoyed at the state of affairs in their own country?

America isn’t on the brink of third worldism and to see Redditors shit on one of my fellow countrymen in the post and trying to make it sound like he should tread back to Cuba is hugely delusional and have no idea of what poverty or oppression actually is, it’s a humongous journey to even get accepted into the United States and the dude deserves celebration.

Just a boatload of posts in /r/politics.

Oh god.

Downvotes don't really matter it isn't real...

Why do you downvote? Are you really that sad of a person that you have little fits of spite and have to reach out through a medium that has nothing to do with validity? You do realize karma is worthless right? And that downvoting a comment doesn't do anything to the legitimacy of what's in the post right? Or do you just ignore all of that because you're butthurt and have to lash out like a baby in need of a circumcision? I mean seriously! You can't have a conversation with someone on the internet without angrily clicking the downvote button? Do you feel like you've had vengeance on them or something? I personally don't care about downvotes either way (by all means, call your silly downvote brigade on me, it means nothing at all to me), but I just find it funny how seriously you and others like yourself actually take these imaginary internet points. Reddit really is all you have, huh? Damn do I feel bad for you. But you know what? I don’t care! I’ll rake in the coal! Go ahead and press that down arrow, I know you're itching to do it. Think you're contributing to the community? "Doing your civic duty"? Nope. You're just decreasing a meaningless number on the internet. You just want to hop on the bandwagon. Well POUNCE! O can hear you as your feet land on the cold real steel of the inside of the wagon. You know what? Enjoy the ride, for now. Maybe even stick your head out the window and feel the breeze while you reflect on the importance of your downvote to me. I'll even give you my word, this isn't even my primary account, kiddo. Downvote away, downvote to your heart's content. But listen kid, please remember rule 1 of reddit. Treat the other people commenting as if they are human beings. It is fascinating, however, that people ignore the fact that they are right just because the first two people downvoted them. From that point it is just snowballs. When people see downvotes, do they neglect their own ability or reason? It is similar to the fallacy of poisoning the well. Once they see the fact that others disagree, they assume that the person must be wrong, even if undeniable truth is on the other side. It is an interesting phenomenon, and I am not sure how reddit should address this issue moving forward. There needs to be a solution that prevents cases like mine from happening. If someone posts something truthful, it should be upvoted, not downvoted. It is imperative that we allow free speech and the truth to be shared. I don’t care about the karma. Hell, I’ll gladly rake in the coal! But we must remember that free speech and opinions are key to our society and, more importantly, reddit. So, next time you want to downvote something, just think about what you are about to do!

You seem to have forgotten about halfway through that I was the one who said downvotes don't matter... Also wtf do you mean a baby in need of a circumcision?! Genital mutilation is not something a baby "needs"! Also you talked about Reddit downvoting comments simply because others did despite truth being on their side when you looked at the thread where I had a comment with -190 karma. And to answer your question I downvote if someone is assuming I am some kind of bigot for having a different opinion or are only trolling. Also why are you so angry about this? Finally why do you assume I have some kind of angry mob of downvoters to attack you with?
