I'm a gay, left-wing, man in my 30's, and I post and read on 4chan and on /pol/. 4chan is entirely open to everyone in the world to post anonymously. At any given time on /pol/ there will be posts from Christians, atheists, left-wingers, right-wingers, communists, libertarians, people from Asia, Eastern Europe, America, African-American people, Muslims, Jews, gays, transgenders, etc. It is extraordinarily and genuinely diverse. You will find all possible political view points represented. Yes, white supremacists and conservatives and Nazis post on /pol/. That's understandable as they are marginalized from other fora. But so do lots who disagree with them. The anonymity and forum style encourages pure debate. If you can robustly and succinctly defend your side of the discussion, no matter what it is, you have an opportunity to persuade the audience. I openly defend being gay on /pol/ and criticize religion, and more often than not most people agree with me. There are actually many gay and even transgender people who post there. Far from wanting us all killed, you will find a large spectrum representing all shades of worldwide opinion. This is what genuine diversity looks like. Of course you can cherry pick and claim /pol/ represents any view point you want, but that's dishonest.

That's why I like the place. I'm sick of the style of left-wing discourse where saying any inconvenient facts get you personally attacked, and any dissent gets you labelled a hateful bigot. Left-wing illiberalism is becoming a genuine problem in America today. We tolerate a kind of superficial diversity in skin color and gender which masks a growing intolerance for political dissent and free debate. I love the possibilities that 4chan represents, and I see it as the flower of free expression it actually is.

My mother passed more than 5 years ago and I haven't really felt anything since. I just don't care, politics are a joke in the background, other family has passed and I didn't feel anything. In six months I made more than a years salary(which itself is substantial) in crypto currencies and I was just mildly amused. I'm not depressed, I'm abstractly happy, and I work towards greater success but only reflexively, I don't really know why I want it anymore.
