This girl is fucking annoying, and is doubling down heavy on SV-esque founder bullshit where the "ideas man" is everything, and doing a ton of shameless self-promotion and "omg I'm just a teen" shit. But not crediting paid freelancers is pretty standard, and people going apeshit over that are idiots.
After looking into this a bit more deeply, she did disclose the role of the freelancer. But the root of the controversy is that her "mentor" committed 90+% of the code, and yeah, that's a humdinger.
Perhaps he was a silent partner in this venture where they would use her youth to get hype? Dunno, this shit doesn't make any sense, and I've long lost whatever tiny attention span I ever had for this bullshit.
It's so weird to me that these journalists are fixated on promoting fake stories about women when every time that they turn out fake it undermines the entire narrative they are trying to promote.
I'd say that a sensible person would take more care in verifying their facts, but then again "journalism" these days seems to thrive on an utter disregard for the truth over convenient story lines.
Is it really is a surprise that as a group, Journalists are trusted less than Politicians?
I've heard some indian guys complain about this being a thing in their media, so I wouldn't be surprised - but I'm talking about how the western media ran with the story without doing any fact checking.
