Are we looking at a Berlusconi/Far right showdown? I haven't been paying much attention but I saw a story about some far right anti immigrant guy surging in the polls a few days ago.
Everybody in the election in with a chance of winning is anti-immigrant because Italians aren't too happy with all the boat people of the mediterranean being dumped on them. Basically because of the stupid Italian political system, it's quite likely that the coalition which will win consists of Berlusconi's party, The League (which used to be all about independence for the North of Italy but has now decided that it dislikes boat people more than southern italians) and then a small right-wing party which boosts the numbers. The party likely to gain the largest percentage of the vote is a meme anti-establishment group who couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. Depending on which party of Berlusconi's coalition gets the most votes, we'll either have a stand-in for Berlusconi in the role until Berlusconi's ban on holding public office expires, or else the Italian equivalent of Nigel Farage.
Trump has spent over a hundred days of his Presidency on the golf course. The only difference between the two is that Berlusconi likes booze along with his hookers.
