I'm a writer for Vox (yeah I know what you're thinking, but it's actually painfully hard to get a job here) and we've been getting a Dan Schneider reveal ready for a couple months now but we're stuck and we can't officially release anything (will explain later). But I'm leaking what we have put together in case the whole story goes to shit and we all get fired and spread around the country to bury the story.
EVIDENCE WE HAVE: Two different actors from Nickelodeon (one is prominent, the other is an extra) and someone who worked on the security detail have all come forward to us after constant haggling of essentially anyone who ever worked closely with Mr Schneider. The stories mostly corroborate, but the details seem to conflict. I'll explain each of the three claims and you'll soon see the problem.
1) Prominent actress: Claims Dan Schneider used drugs and alcohol to get young girls to agree to sex. He would also use other methods of coercion including public embarrassment and sending nude videos to their parents. He impregnated at least two girls that she knows of (she claims she doesn't know if Jaime Lyn Spears was molested and impregnated, but is positive of two others). They were extras, and only 14 and 16 years old. She claims that Mr Schneider forced abortions on them (though we checked the records of every clinic in southern California and couldn't find any corroborating information on this).
2) Extra: He claims that Mr Schneider never had sex with any of the girls, but would inappropriately touch a lot of the young girls on set (this includes the main actresses, the extras, and anyone else who made their way near Mr Schneider). He would have parties at his home and invite both young boys and girls over, and would implicitly encourage them to have sex by offering alcohol and leaving bedroom doors open. This extra insists that Mr Schneider did not have sex with anyone underage or against their will. We asked him why he was so insistent about this and he said that the cast likes to spread around rumors because no one likes him for being a creep.
3) Security detail: Has seen Mr Schneider grope multiple young children while on set. He would touch their breasts and buttocks and hold them which would continue despite their crying to be put down and left alone (this only happened a few times, Mr Schneider eventually learned to back off a bit). If the children got upset over what happened, it was his job to take the children away and have them meet with one of the cast (essentially whoever was there at the time) so that they would forget what happened. Apparently this security officer has a criminal record and hasn't had a job in ten years so there's little reliability here.
There are way more details these people have contributed but this is the most important and incriminating bits of it. We were getting ready to release the story (despite the conflicting reports) but the prominent actress suddenly contacted us and demanded that she wanted anonymity. We told her that the story means a fraction of what it would without her support, but she absolutely insisted. Later, (the very same day un-coincidentally) we started getting a hail of phone calls from lawyers working for Nickelodeon threatening all kinds of possible legal damage. It turns out the prominent actress told Nickelodeon about the story we're doing (we don't know for sure if she's the one who told them, but it makes the most sense). We also learned that this actress has been in and out of rehab so even without her sabotage the story was flimsy at best.

I remember generally that your extremities are treated ap part of a particular bit of zainy early teen humour because at that age your limbs are growing and you lose a bit of control over them. It's not all that common but probably wasn't in those shows given that they ran for ages and there are 10s of examples. Not ruling it out but that is why it's not totally convincing to me.

I'm a writer for Vox (yeah I know what you're thinking, but it's actually painfully hard to get a job here) and we've been getting a Dan Schneider reveal ready for a couple months now but we're stuck and we can't officially release anything (will explain later). But I'm leaking what we have put together in case the whole story goes to shit and we all get fired and spread around the country to bury the story.
EVIDENCE WE HAVE: Two different actors from Nickelodeon (one is prominent, the other is an extra) and someone who worked on the security detail have all come forward to us after constant haggling of essentially anyone who ever worked closely with Mr Schneider. The stories mostly corroborate, but the details seem to conflict. I'll explain each of the three claims and you'll soon see the problem.
1) Prominent actress: Claims Dan Schneider used drugs and alcohol to get young girls to agree to sex. He would also use other methods of coercion including public embarrassment and sending nude videos to their parents. He impregnated at least two girls that she knows of (she claims she doesn't know if Jaime Lyn Spears was molested and impregnated, but is positive of two others). They were extras, and only 14 and 16 years old. She claims that Mr Schneider forced abortions on them (though we checked the records of every clinic in southern California and couldn't find any corroborating information on this).

2) Extra: He claims that Mr Schneider never had sex with any of the girls, but would inappropriately touch a lot of the young girls on set (this includes the main actresses, the extras, and anyone else who made their way near Mr Schneider). He would have parties at his home and invite both young boys and girls over, and would implicitly encourage them to have sex by offering alcohol and leaving bedroom doors open. This extra insists that Mr Schneider did not have sex with anyone underage or against their will. We asked him why he was so insistent about this and he said that the cast likes to spread around rumors because no one likes him for being a creep. 3) Security detail: Has seen Mr Schneider grope multiple young children while on set. He would touch their breasts and buttocks and hold them which would continue despite their crying to be put down and left alone (this only happened a few times, Mr Schneider eventually learned to back off a bit). If the children got upset over what happened, it was his job to take the children away and have them meet with one of the cast (essentially whoever was there at the time) so that they would forget what happened. Apparently this security officer has a criminal record and hasn't had a job in ten years so there's little reliability here.

There are way more details these people have contributed but this is the most important and incriminating bits of it. We were getting ready to release the story (despite the conflicting reports) but the prominent actress suddenly contacted us and demanded that she wanted anonymity. We told her that the story means a fraction of what it would without her support, but she absolutely insisted. Later, (the very same day un-coincidentally) we started getting a hail of phone calls from lawyers working for Nickelodeon threatening all kinds of possible legal damage. It turns out the prominent actress told Nickelodeon about the story we're doing (we don't know for sure if she's the one who told them, but it makes the most sense). We also learned that this actress has been in and out of rehab so even without her sabotage the story was flimsy at best.
