As it stands, the best treatment option for people with GD is transitioning and this has been supported with decades of evidence. If you know anything about the actual transition process there's a shitton of psychological screen involved and many patients undergo counseling the whole time.
As for the hormone blockers thing it's fact that children experience gender dysphoria too. And the research has proven that withholding medical treatment harms the well being of these individuals as they grow up.
Listen, surgery, hormones, and hormone blockers all have their side effects and failed cases. But medical scientists have proven that this is the most effective treatment for individuals with GD. We've already tried all sorts of antidepressants and other drugs but they don't solve the main problem of GD. The science is on their side.
