nah man it's tracking to do HORRIBLE in China and there's like no hype for it in the US. The trailers have as many views on YouTube as the trailers for A Quiet Place which is an original horror film with a much smaller budget and a niche audience
I'm gonna say this - I'm not gonna even pirate this film or watch anything Star Wars related (especially new ones)-no Obi Van, no dice😠. But most reviewers agree that it's a slightly above average space capeshit.
How does it compare to other Disney ones? Idk, I never sae them. Maybe other drama users will add more info.
Get out of here. The best star wars movies are trailers for the old republic. Star wars has a time period called the old republic where jedi and dark force users battled in gigantic wars during the most interesting time period of the galaxy. And george lucas/disney prefer to tell stories where there are hardly any space wizards.
Fun fact, Firefly deserved to burn for being so painfully mediocre. Now Josh Whedon has an 'out' that the networks were really mean to him instead of letting him show it in the right order and inevitably losing all of his crediblity in one fell swoop.
they are though. he managed to ruin a science fiction movie with this cutsy artsy stupid ass concept of love as time travel in the end for the movie to make any sense at all, and dunkirk is the only fucking war movie I've ever watched that I fell asleep watching. Literally nothing interesting happened in that movie. Gets on ship, it sinks. Gets on ship, it sinks. Gets on ship, it fucking sinks. Air battle. Gets on ship, it sinks. Oh and the sailboat. Then I fell asleep.
I think I agree with you, but I don't know for sure because I literally can't remember a single fucking thing about Batman Begins. I know I've seen it, and I know Liam Neeson is in it. That's it.
It’s not memorable at all. I often forget that Scarecrow is even in that one. All I remember is the kid who plays Joffrey is in it, and the chick Tom Cruise paid to marry him.
Meanwhile I remember the entire plot of Batman Forever.
And that is complete bullshit. Anyone who has seen real footage of Dunkirk knows that Atonement does not show what Dunkirk was like at all. Nolan's Dunkirk was much more accurate, hell he even ripped some of the shots from the footage.
You said 'a better depiction of Dunkirk'. Atonement wasn't a better depiction. Maybe a more cinematic one but that isn't what you said.
And I think most people who disagree that it made for better cinema. Atonement didn't depict the chaos, tension, the meaning behind the war and the struggle for survival faced in Dunkirk at all.
Big thing I hate about shitty samurai movies is their sandals make clinking noises even on softer surfaces. It's like when you touch a gun in a movie it makes a fuck ton of "gun sounds"
He was a carpenter and performed a miracle by changing Lucas’s vagina into a penis.
Putting ford in movies was the least George could do for modern day Jesus
Just fyi film reviewers are ultra-normies who get paid to fool you into believing they're insightful and smart. But otherwise this is spot on, if you like Han Solo this movie was meant as a big fuck you. Down with the patriarchy! Also Star Trek is better 🎶😎🎶
The real fun thing is that film theory doesn't mean shit as long as people enjoy the thing, reading long boring articles about how the colour RED is used in a film doesn't make that film any better, it just means that the director is a massive pretentious nerd who is appealing to virgin basement dwellers who give a shit about film theory.
You don't have to care about movie reviewer but many people care a lot about the technical aspects of a film: the writing, pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, etc. So if I know there's a reviewer who has a good eye for these aspects, I can be sure that if they say the movie is good I'll at least enjoy it. I don't have the time or money or patience to review movies myself so I instead read other people who do so that I can be sure my money is well spent.
What you seem to be forgetting, and a lot of other people who say they don't care for reviews do this as well, is that review are not facts. They're opinions. The reviewer, if they're good at their job, will be fairly clear about what they care about in a movie. If you also care about those things, and if you find the reviewer to have similar tastes to you, then that review will be useful. If you don't, it won't. It's as simple as that. Maybe you just don't share tastes with any reviewers you've found.
Imagine a world without reviewers. That would mean you have to rely on producers, distributors, creators, and marketers to determine whether the movie is good or not. Do you really think they care about the art form? Imagine how much you can influence a whole country with that kind of power. They enforced religious morals, anti miscegenation rules, and content will get more stale and close minded. We had this kind of arrangement before the MPAA was established.
Imagine a world without reviewers. That would mean you have to rely on producers, distributors, creators, and marketers to determine whether the movie is good or not
Or I could just ask someone what they thought of it 😏
imagine if the internet was normie infested when the prequels came out and how mad all these geeks would be. if it's not clear what im saying is star wars is about as normie as taylor swift.
In this movie we learn that Han got his last name from a Strom Trooper. Im not joking he is trying to enter a city he gave them his name and says he is alone so the guard says "Han Solo."

A quiet place was a major hit for paramount.
1 MasterLawlz 2018-05-16
It was a hit but had a way smaller budget
1 uniqueguy263 2018-05-16
And it will make less than Last Jedi’s opening weekend. Probably the fourth biggest horror, but those numbers would be a humiliation for Disney.

Almost worse than capeshit
1 voicelesshoodwinker 2018-05-16
It is capeshit, but in space and with oversized laser pointers.

Only original trilogy with a black man is the best movie ever made? Sounds about right. Everyone knows blacks bring the bantz.

Batman forever is better than Batman begins. It feels good to get that off my chest.

Begins is actually quite boring.
Also Forever has more fuckable actors in it.

Oh yeah, I remember the Dawson's girl now. Batman and Batman Returns for me, fantastic films even if the second one got a bit too Tim Burton.
1 a_jill_sandwich 2018-05-16
I liked those, but Batman Forever had Jim Carrey and Chris O’Donnell and it was during my sexual awakening years.

First three are good. They are just samurai movies but without Asians and all those stupid wood sandals.
1 PM_me_GOODSHIT 2018-05-16

1 PM_me_GOODSHIT 2018-05-16
The prequels were good.
1 LemonScore 2018-05-16
The first two prequels are actually good films and people just dislike them because it's popular to. I loved them when I was a kid and I always will.
1 Chicup 2018-05-16

1 LightUmbra 2018-05-16
Are you locked in a basement?
1 strathmeyer 2018-05-16
Star Wars movies were made to sell merchandise. At least when they made the "My Little Pony" movie their goal was to make a good movie.
1 MagicHoudini 2018-05-16
Empire is so good it carries OT by itself. The rest are various degrees of boring and cringe, especially the Disney ones.
Also, Indiana Jones is better than Star Wars
1 CocoNutsOn 2018-05-16
Star Wars is kinda piss. Other capeshit is just tip top.
1 SAC-Lawn_Gnome 2018-05-16
iirc Speilberg met the guy he would cast as Han Solo at a Bar Mitzvah.

Lucas met Harrison Ford when he was redoing his kitchen.

New Star Wars - Nothing like the old; they just kept some names and the laser swords. For normies.
Original Star Wars - Popular but years later mostly discussed by nerds.
Star Wars Expanded Universe - Pure Kino
