Too much good threads, just read it all nerds

Dead Cells is a good game, so good for them.

Game devs truly are insufferable. It's no coincidence that they are simultaneously the least talented group of developers in the software industry while also being the most likely group in-industry to hold far-left perspectives.

Like, how fucking hard is it to avoid these shithead publishers (I can definitely sympathize with that aspect of their difficulties) in a part of the industry that is absolutely infamous for it's horrendous development practices? Maybe if they dropped their childish fixation with making "their" game they could take a step back and recognize that the development they're doing in making a game is virtually indistinguishable from the rest of the industry's typical work. The only difference is the terrible working situation and the proximity to vidya.

The number of people in that thread who were going on about "If you were a REAL game dev you wouldn't care about your salary you'd be happy to be making games for a living!" was way too high.

Like, I know you can probably disregard the minimum wage job you have serving coffee or flipping burgers, so in your mind "money isn't everything" but once your parents die and you have to pay the property taxes on their basement you live in, you'll understand.

Their business model is superior to the industry standard.

why is this a bad thing
