I don't give a fuck how much you call your flimsy delusions "enlightenment." There is no amount of ceaseless self-deception that will make you accept the charred hellscape of being a miserable useless destitute fucking junkie piece of shit. You know what you are, and it is deeply ugly on every level.

alex jones has been one of the most well-known figures in the right-wing media sphere for over a year. it's stupid to try to deplatform him imo, but what little exposure he'll gain from these pieces won't come close to making up for the hit hes taking being banned from most of the platforms hes dependent on.
Jones was always right wing. There were large numbers of 9/11 truthers that were also conservatives.
For most of recent history conservatives tended to have a deep distrust of the federal government, no matter who was in charge. Only with recent polarization has it become "we've gotta defend our guy at all costs."
Some did, many didn't. There's an entire subset of right-wing conspiracists that were never friendly to the federal government that really kicked into gear around Waco/ruby ridge.
For example, who he cites as his influence:
Jones was born in 1974 in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in the Dallas suburb of Rockwall and the city of Austin, Texas. His father is a dentist[30] and his mother a homemaker.[17] In his video podcasts, he reports he is of Irish,[31] German, Welsh, mostly English, and partially Native American descent. He was a lineman on his high school's football team and graduated from Anderson High School in Austin in 1993.[17] As a teenager, he read conservative journalist and conspiracy theorist Gary Allen's anti-Semitic book None Dare Call It Conspiracy,[32] which had a profound influence on him and which he calls "the easiest-to-read primer on The New World Order".[33] After high school, Jones briefly attended Austin Community College but dropped out.[34]
Oh no doubt Jones was very anti-federal government, and other right-wing conspiracy types (or just libertarian types). But I'd guess their numbers and influence really pale compared to the more mainstream Republican conservatives who wanted to make it illegal to question the Iraq war.
IMO the "silent majority" of conservatives either don't have a stance on the neocon (Bush/Cheney) vs. paleocon (Pat Buchanan, arguably Donald Trump) dispute or sympathize with the Buchanan wing and didn't really know it until Trump came along. Likewise, while the libertarian wing may have differences with the paleocons they hate neocons, such that libertarians and paleocons have palled around with each other since the Ron Paul days.
IMO Newt Gingrich created the present-day GOP without having much of an ideological base, such that most of "the base" will fall in with whoever wins the intra-party disputes, and as of late that's Trump. With that I'd argue that the rank and file voters of the GOP's newly southern/midwestern voter base are a lot more amenable to the paleoconservative view and that the dominance of the neocons was a legacy of the GOP's former position as the party of the northeast and west coast.
Likely has more to do with Trump tapping into right-wing conspiracies on a massive scale.
Alex Jones type bullshit has been circulating in the right-wing fever swamp for years. Trump going on his show to be interviewed likely led to more fringe conservatives paying attention to him because he says things they want to be true.
So here's my questions, why can't some conservative make a popular online media streaming service? Is anything beyond Sirius XM too hard for them to understand?

The only thing more pathetic than this post is how you think people actually actually care.

What was he before? A libertarian?
1 grungebot5000 2018-08-06
a literal "radical centist"
he'd frequently posit that the left and right wings existed only to prop each other up and keep the common man distracted and subjugated

I disagree because of the nature of his show.
It will galvanize his fans, and only make it easier for people who don't listen to him to continue not listening to him.
Also,
I miss "Bush did 9/11" Alex Jones...
