I go there and outside a few places where the rich live it looks sad and forlorn and more like a Mexican province during a currency crisis than it does an American state. Op I hate to break it to you but cali is terrible. My boyfriend is from there and every time we go visit it isn't that great.

Some of the people there are rotten, there are way too many people, the crime is bad. Where I live I can leave my car doors unlocked if I wanted (I don't though lol)- I don't even go anywhere in cali by myself. Traffic is awful, prices are astronomically high, the weather is blistering hot and the grass is crunchy and gross (at least in south california). It is hell on earth, at least to me. The palm trees are nice and my boyfriend's family is nice, but those are the only 2 things I like about California.

Oregon or Washington is probably a lot better, you just have to ignore antifa directing traffic.
