I agree. We tell men who want to meet women to get hobbies and engage in community activities. Then, when they do so, they get called creepy. And taking a class or something is a good way for people with poor social skills to meet others. It has more structure than just trying to pick someone up in a bar or dating app.

As for why the complaint is gendered, I doubt many women have had bad experiences with lesbians hitting on them. Not that women are perfect, but men are told they need to be assertive and approach women if they want a dating life. It's just how things shape up.

I didn't know how to exactly title this post, but I think it exemplifies my feelings well.

I consider myself to be a very masculine guy in appearance and behavior. Unsurprisingly, most of my hobbies are also very "masculine" ie these hobbies are like 95% full of men.

I've noticed something very early on that makes me super angry.

Some of my hobby groups have been completely infiltrated by straight women who use this as a gateway to gain attention, manipulate other men. And trust me, not one of these men are looking to be with a girl.
