Someone steals the guy's game design and sells it as their own, /r/gamedev is okay with that and says the guy deserves to have his game stolen because the clone looks slightly better; the controversial comments are not entirely interesting so it's sorted by top so you could laugh at retards

I'm pretty sure this qualifies as sexual assault, Snappy-chan.

Heres the thing, you sniveling highschooler. Nobody fucking cares about your unprotected ideas. And if things as vague as game designer were your intellectual property you wouldn't even be able to make shit that shares jumping mechanics with another game. None of this matters, they both look like high school projects nobody cares about anyway.

The guy who posted this isn't the guy who posted about the clone, you sniveling highschooler.

It's over for gamercels

I mean incels

Damn OP, did you make that game? There are no good "controversial" comments because all the top comments are right. Somebody did a mobile game idea better than you, they "stole" from you like you "stole" from Mario

OP is a moron. It's "okay" because we don't grant property rights over game design concepts and it would be horrible if we did.

I remember when Fez was praised for its originality even though it was basically the same concept as Super Paper Mario but indie and quirky

I know this sucks to hear but OP's idea is not revolutionary at all. It's a bunch of shapes that a skateboarding stick figure has to ride to the end. This has been done in countless games that I've played in the app store before OP's game. Also if you look at OP's game compared to the clone, OP's stick figure is constantly riding the skateboard while the shapes move and in the clone the stick figure is stationary and just kinda jumping around.. He conveniently took a screen grab of where the mechanics looked similar in which the stick figure is riding a shape compared to his stick figure riding the skateboard. The mechanics are different, the soundtrack is different, but the shapes and colors are the same. If OP is gonna go after every colorful block game I'd like to see him go after tetris, this is ridiculous.

There are also links to his game's Steam page in that thread, and the game just so happens to be on sale.

To be fair there is an ongoing winter steam sale lol

I just don't think the 'clone' did anything wrong. I feel like I've played the exact same version of OP's game somewhere else first of all and second of all everyone's first indie game that is non rpgmaker is usually some kind of platformer with stick figures because it is easier to make and doesn't require expensive assets or a lot of writing. They're a dime a dozen. :/
