Hey what happens to all the old fashioned sellers? Do they have their foot in the door now that it's legal? Or is there still a market for untaxed weed?
There's still a black market. I'm not really sure about the sellers but there are a lot of growers who sell to the black market. The price per pound here has gotten so low that it's almost pointless to continue doing it unless you have an efficient system and a network of buyers. A lot of countries are enforcing strict permit and licensing laws so with the shrinking profit margins I wouldn't risk growing all summer just to have code enforcement come out and call all my shit down in August. I've been blessed with good genetics so I've had good relationships with a few reputable dispensaries for a few years now
If I had started doing this in my early 20's instead of my late 20's I'd probably be retired now but pot value has been progressively shrinking for the last 10 or so years and tanking for the last 2
I'm a student, graduating in May. Working on lining up an internship part time for the spring semester right now, but I also work at best buy part time. I'm majoring in econ (I know what a fag, right)
I’m basically a retired stay-at-home dad but without the kids, wife, or any other responsibilities to keep me from my hobby of finding minor issues and coming up with unnecessarily complicated solutions as an excuse to buy more tools and keep busy.
Oh yes of course, AARP which is a United States-based interest group whose stated mission is "to empower people to choose how they live as they age." According to the organization, it had more than 38 million members as of 2018. AARP was founded in 1958 by Ethel Percy Andrus and Leonard Davis.
Just posted my defdefinition for the dummies that didn't know.
How old are You? I was 23 when I was admitted to the aarp, probably gonna make VC next year. So yeah, I'm doing pretty well for myself as well.
I’ve actually thought about starting a video channel of different projects but it’s too much effort. I just finished adapting a sleeve hitch to my garden tractor and through the use of many pulleys, angle iron, and a cheap harbor freight winch made it so I can raise and lower the rear box blade from the dashboard rather than getting off and doing it manually.
I work as a secret agent for the government. It's my job to investigate boipussy for evidence of infiltration or alien activity -- and I am DAMN good at my job
I work as a floor assistant at a high end nail salon during the day and cocktail waitress at a low end bar at night. Today's one of those fun 15 hour days where I work open-close at the salon and drive straight to the bar after. Yey.
I design and build machines which bring the food from the fields to your mouth. So half white/half blue collar worker. I'm also a CWB certified welder and kinda ended up teaching the new ones to don't fuck up.
It depends on what you want to do. I've got a geology degree, and there is a lot of competition for those jobs. If you just want to be a laborer then it's pretty easy to get those jobs so long as you can pass the whiz quiz and can show that you're reliable.
As far as pay goes, I'm not too sure about mining, but I do know about Oil and Gas. Rig hands and roustabouts generally make around 22/hr working 87.5 hour weeks on 2-week hitches.
If you can grab an offshore gig (especially in the Persian Gulf) you can make more money than God.
IIRC most mining is going on in India, China and Africa, and it's mainly transition metals used for electronics and batteries. Traditional resources like iron and coal aren't necessarily a dying industry, but their market share is much lower than it used to be.
Ah ok, Yeah I'm a dual citizen but have only worked in Australia but I was thinking about heading over there just for a change, so the money isn't even the point really.
I've never worked in oil and gas but I do have my hazardous area ticket from working in the petro chem industry, so I'm qualified but am lacking experience. I have no idea how these qualifications translate over your way yet.
Traditional resources like iron and coal aren't necessarily a dying industry, but their market share is much lower than it used to be.
Tell me about it, when I entered the iron ore mining industry it was ~170 Aud a tonne and I was making $60 an hour 12.5 hour fortnights doing fuck all, last I checked it was 70ish a tonne and thats only because it's picked up a bit.
I was doing mudlogging in eastern Ohio until I got this job doing drilling and blasting a few months ago. It seems to me that the best place to be in the States if you're going to work in O&G is the Texas/Oklahoma area. That's where most of the recruiting for higher paying positions seems to have come from in my short time working in the industry.
Ah ok yeah I know a geo who was doing mudlogging in town until he got into exploration. Cool thanks for the replies mate, it's 04:49 and im ready to go home.
I'm an accountant, but my long term boyfriend makes really good money flipping houses and if we get married I'd likely leave to go into business with him. My job is good money and I'm good at it, but it's hardly a "calling."
Professional poker player. Good money but I'm going back to school sooner rather than later to get muh stability and muh real job. My favorite thing about it though is making 4x the hourly of my shithead blue collar brothers that accuse me of being lazy cause no muh real job.
Real jobs are for fags. My boyfriend flips houses and runs his own business and he's so much happier than every single 9-5er I know. Don't bother with an expensive fucking degree unless you have a very clear plan of what to do with it.

I mean that's where Langley and the Pentagon are so yeah, they're in charge of the military. Why do you think people often refer to Va when talking about veterans?
I'm a mental health counselor, I facilitate group therapy for adults with mood disorders such as MDD and GAD and also work in crisis stabilization where I help facilitate a tx plan that reduces suicidal ideation and at times homicidal ideation. I'm slowly shifting my focus to addictions counseling though. I like drama because I can unwind by laughing at cringey pretentious assholes on reddit.
I work 6 months out of the year (usually as a draftsman) and spend the other 6 traveling in my van with a solar panel on the top or backpacking Europe.
I work as a butcher. Pretty awful work and it's customer service but I get paid a livable wage, have a nice, brand new apartment, a fluffy kitty, and a beautiful wife. Life's alright most days.
I worked hard, made decent choices, built up enough to say 'fuck this shit, I'm retiring' at an early age. I am not rich, but I have it where I can live a minimalist lifestyle without having to ever work again.

I’m 34 so technically I’m on the early edge of millennial.
I have a [https://i.imgur.com/mYoeeIL.jpg](3.5 stall garage) that [https://i.imgur.com/5UIagP9.jpg](doubles as a workshop) but also have to fit four cars and a lot of outdoor equipment so there’s always a lot of moving shit around to avoid making the outside look redneck.

I was only joking. I'm at work on night shift right now 6 till 6, but jeeze 15 hour days? Thats brutal.
1 legendariel 2018-12-26
Couple times a week usually. Sometimes 10 hour days. Sometime 5-6 hour days. Just depends on how the schedules shake out.
I keep asking but the bills just refuse to pay themselves, and I dont have anyone in my life who can really help me if I fall on my ass financially.
Higher education would be great but who has the time or money?

Yeah. If you're a actually dumb, I need to be nice to you to make sure you stick around and keep posting. But if you make bad jokes, gtfo.

1 snallygaster 2018-12-26
That's pretty cool. What are the worst kinds of clients to deal with?
1 banananutbranmuffin 2018-12-26
Depends what they're describing treatment for. Personality disorders are nearly impossible to treat well though.
1 sadderreborn 2018-12-26
Reminder all mental health counselors are mentally ill themselves
Just like drama posters!

I work in drilling and blasting, mostly on construction, but occasionally for quarrying.

I work in drilling and blasting, mostly on your mom, but occasionally for you dad.

Better you than me.
1 degorius 2018-12-26
In all seriousness that sounds like a fun job, do you get to travel a lot?
1 soupvsjonez 2018-12-26
I'm home most nights, but there is a bit of travel with it. I actually took it because I was traveling too much at my old job.
I love the job though.

Currently going through a decently paid residency to be a certified RN and then go for a PA program later down the line.
I’m making decent strides and I’m pretty happy working in the medical field

I work 6 months out of the year (usually as a draftsman) and spend the other 6 traveling in my van with a solar panel on the top or backpacking Europe.
1 Chin_Up_Chick 2018-12-26
I'm a collector for a bank. The drama in that job is glorious, it's basically every dramanauts dream job.
1 jakry 2018-12-26
I work as a butcher. Pretty awful work and it's customer service but I get paid a livable wage, have a nice, brand new apartment, a fluffy kitty, and a beautiful wife. Life's alright most days.
1 degorius 2018-12-26
The customer side of that must suck but processing whole sides of meat is so cathartic and relaxing its seems itd be worth it.
1 Ed_ButteredToast 2018-12-26
Nice ((( CIA))) honeypot you've got going here lol.

I worked hard, made decent choices, built up enough to say 'fuck this shit, I'm retiring' at an early age. I am not rich, but I have it where I can live a minimalist lifestyle without having to ever work again.
I'm happy this way.
I also shagged yer nan for your trust fund.
