My god I just checked your post history. There is no shaming you. This is literally your life. Just imagine how much you could accomplish if you weren’t addicted to Reddit. You’re making a difference, though!
Society is failing and a stunted, immature population calls out for salvation from the gods of their youth. They know in their hearts that their prayers will not be answered and so they gnash their teeth and turn against one another.
Whenever it does happen, it will come out of nowhere. I don't know what happened with Solo but all the box office projections were ludicrously far off. I don't know if Disney paid them to overproject it or if everyone was just that wrong.
If Marvel ever does have a bomb, it will be a movie that has zero hype but with a bunch of fanboys saying that it will still definitely make money just like what happened with Solo.
I wouldn’t call them outright bombs, Incredible Hulk maybe. Hard to say without a decent estimate of the marketing budgets. Incredible Hulk has a production budget of $150 million and made $263,427,551 worldwide. Captain America’s production budget was $140 million and made $370,569,774. Compared to the others that’s weak or underperforming. But I guess it’s how you’d define bomb. Even with a $100 million advertising campaign Captain America pulled in $130 million.
Lmao what? Incredible Hulk cost $150M to make and had a marketing budget of at least $100M and made $250M, that’s an outright bomb. That’s a loss of like $40-60M when all is said and done.
Would Iron Man be considered a bomb, or just a bit over breaking even, since it made $585,174,222 and cost the same ($140 million budget and presumably a similar advertising campaign budget of $100 million.)
Incredible Hulk I can see, but I’ve never heard Captain America described as a bomb. Iron Man was considered a hit but by your math it barely made a profit if that. I think we might be overestimating the promotional budgets.
$318,412,101 domestic ($159,206,050 at 50%)
$266,762,121 foreign ($106,704,848 at 40%, splitting the differnce between China vs rest of the world)
That’s $265,910,898 - $240,000,000 is only a $25.9 million profit. Seems low. Not even 10% return.
unironically this is actually kind of a problem. Some writers literally cannot make interesting female characters without making them make the men around them look like blithering idiots. This was one of the main problems with the 2016 Ghostbusters, literally ALL the male characters were either effeminate, neckbeard assholes, or idiots. Part of that is because Paul Feig was incapable of bonding with men growing up and I think had no male role models (he's talked about this in interviews) so I honestly think that deep down he hates his own gender to some degree
The Incredibles was probably one of the best movies to go against this because both Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl were pretty equally competent but the movie didn't also totally ignore topics like him struggling with his masculinity in the modern world.
I hate the fact that I'm talking about a reddit circle jerk film but Edge of Tomorrow did this great, Emily Blunt was fantastic and the movie actually gave a reason why a woman who weighed 110 pounds cna fight in hand to hand combat (i.e. a giant metal mech suit).
Also Sarah Connor is still one of the best leads in cinematic history.
You got no idea how many times I've said this same shit, mod daddy. Season 2 of Daredevil had some of the most embarrassing fights when you have to watch a 230 pounds guy who's jacked fight with a girl who weighs 90 pounds. Its just fucking nuts, and before everyone started hating her people were all about pretending Ronda Rousey had an attractive face when really she just had a fit and muscular frame (for a woman). I guess people were shocked that if a woman is fit she looks more attractive, fuck getting more fat women in Hollywood lets get some who actually do more in the gym than just squat.

And besides, if a woman cant even lift than the only thing she's good for at that point is being furniture.
yes this is why people hated Terminator, Alien, Wonder Woman, Fargo, and like damn near every musical ever made since a lot of them featured women in the lead role
I think the movie looks pretty boring so I think it might fail for this reason
She looks like a lame blend of Superman and Wonder Woman. What are her powers even? At least Ant Man and Doctor Strange led to some cool special effects sequences
The more i hear about this lady the less i care we get it sweety you're playing genderbend superman to empower all the white women in the world wonder woman already did that and she wasnt milking it for progressive points

I think it's because she doesn't wash her feet.

I hope this movie fails because I want all capeshit to fail.

At some point Marvel has got to take a tumble, right? It's been a decade and 20 movies with no outright bombs.

I say a prayer to the man upstairs every day that it will but so far nothing. I think God has forsaken me.

I really wish that more actresses would get muscular for roles. I know it’s harder for a woman to pack on meat but most seem to not even try.
