overview : Earth is peaceful following the Tournament of Power. Realizing that the universes still hold many more strong people yet to see, Goku spends all his days training to reach even greater heights. Then one day, Goku and Vegeta are faced by a Saiyan called 'Broly' who they've never seen before. The Saiyans were supposed to have been almost completely wiped out in the destruction of Planet Vegeta, so what's this one doing on Earth? This encounter between the three Saiyans who have followed completely different destinies turns into a stupendous battle, with even Frieza (back from Hell) getting caught up in the mix.

I agree with that assessment for the most part, but Lucas legit is a hack. Even after the failure of the Prequels he continued to make shitty decision after shitty decision. Red Tails, that one weird animated one he basically sold the Star Wars IP to have made. Hell, watch the Behind the Scenes to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and you notice that that movie is basically entirely his fault, and that no one but him wanted it made.

The best things is that both the jedis and the sith are evil. Jedis explicitely help defend a monarchy (naboo), while the sith built a dictature. Both make use of slaves (the clones for the jedis) and both use mind rape on innocents.

I think you're giving spaceshit too much credit there. The "monarchy" you talk about is actually a democracy with set term limits for their "monarch", who is voted into office on the basis of their qualifications as well their age since their electorate strongly prefers extremely young candidates because they're... woke, I guess. Or pedos. Same thing really.

And the clones were created and primarily used by the villain for villainous purposes in some over the top convoluted plot. Spaceshit makes it a point to ensure that there's no nuance or grey area.

what? that isn't the fkn purpose at all, star wars is not that deep. the purpose of the line is that only sith would create some ultimatum like "you are either with me or i'll kill you", jedi try to sort out things with negotiation and only resort to violence if needed, anakin literally just says "i'm taking over the galaxy and if you don't agree i'll kill you", which is a pretty big indication that he's evil.

none of it is subtle or deep and you're just reading into shit that isn't there.

It’s not dumb it was done intentionally to show that not much separates the Jedi and the sith and that from one perspective, both are evil. It was actually genius, part of the reason episode 3 is the best IMO
