Yeah it is bonkers. I hope that one day someone charts all this shit and figure out where shit went off the rails. Maybe it was when social media went mainstream similar to the advent of the printing press. Instead of revolutions and reformations though, we just get pure unbridled autism.
Social media in my opinion has certainly contributed to our upside-down contemporary society but let's not forget that the world has always been crazy in one way or another. I mean shit, it wasn't that long ago since virtually everyone in the west was antisemitic, smoking was thought to be healthy, people believed that drinking water with radiation was healthy, the CIA conducted mind control experiments on people like 6 decades ago etcetc.
It's easy to look back at the past and remember it for being civilized and truthful - and sure, society might have been more civilized at isolated occasions in the last century but Twilight Zone-esque stuff that's fucking baffling has always been out there
I mean we're monkeys who miraculously gained this weird consciousness thing at some point a few millennia ago and we haven't really adjusted well since then.
On a purely biological level we're just primitive beings that are trying our best to be civilized but our instincts ooze out at times, and from there we get crazy, off-the-rails powerhungry folks
It went nuts right about 2016. TDS is real. He's a cancer, rectal cancer - which by the way you are more than 4x as likely to get if born in 1990 or later...
That was 1954. You mean the Large Hadron Collider? That was September 10 2008 and America elected a black dude almost immediately afterwards so the math checks out. You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!
Whats the law in USA about this? If no one manages to bring you the papers and tell you "You are served" you arent guilty of anything? Can he just drag this out?
I think its the same thing as it is up here in canukland. Essentially unless you have been properly notified by the court that you are meant to go to trial, and that notification is done through recieveing court papers, you are not obligated to have to go to the court.
I heard a long time ago that there was even a bounty hunter-esque occupation that people partake in where they will literally hunt down people who are dodging their papers and force them to accept them. If people are avoiding their mail, they technically haven't 'recieved' them, so can't be dragged to court. Thus, there are people employed to find the person in question and make them take the papers.
I heard there was a sort of reality show about this occupation a long time ago, too, but I can't for the life of me find it now.
For civil cases (i.e., not crimes), the plaintiff has to serve notice of the suit on the defendant. The idea being that a plaintiff can't ask a court to give them someone else's money unless that person has full warning that they're being sued and a chance to defend themselves. Of course, this sometimes leads to people trying to avoid getting served with the notice, like here.
It never works in the end (the plaintiff can just go back to the court and ask for an extension of the service deadline, which will be granted as long as they made an effort), but it can delay matters.

Whomever’s fever dream creates reality, they’re near death, so the dream loses cohesion.

They're thiiiiiiis close to making this about Drumpf.
1 Sarge_Ward 2019-03-19
I can't entirely blame them for that on this one. The guy literally lives in the tower right now. Hard to not mention the name.
1 LaughAtLeftists 2019-03-19
Take a shot every time Trump is mentioned in a story that isn't really related to him.
1 YoureRuiningAmerica 2019-03-19
Why does the lying MSM always drag Trumps name into every article?

It's totally Trump Derangement Syndrome to mention the name in giant letters on the building
1 SpiceAndEvNice 2019-03-19
One thing is making this about the building, it's a totally different thing to make it about Trump himself.
Either way, it's a hilarious move.
Btw, who has more authority? SS or the local police?
1 rockidol 2019-03-19
Couldn't Trump order his tower guards to stop hiding R. Kelly from court papers?

Everything in some way loops back to Trump.
1 Psyman2 2019-03-19
It's literally the name of the building and nobody mentioned Trump in any way.
1 betazoom78 2019-03-19
Tell that to the people on r/politics who will start screeching.
