I've seen people both in real life and on the internet PASSIONATELY claim this. People say that she is basically the reason the company even exists. One guy I worked with said he was flat broke and she supported his ass while he founded the company.

Literally, none of it was true. Both of them quit their jobs and moved across the country and he created Amazon after that. They met because she worked for him at a previous company. The only involvement she had with Amazon was some basic accounting work early on and one article claimed she helped negotiate one contract with a freight company.

After that, she didn't really do a whole lot aside from writing occasionally and some charity work.

While I do think it's unfair for her to get 30 billion dollars, how the divorce went down wouldn't be considered unreasonable in any other scenario but she just happened to be married to the richest guy in the world. If you heard that someone who was married to a guy for over 20 years got 25% of his assets in a divorce and donated half of it to charity, there would be no controversy at all and you would probably think pretty highly of her. It's just that in this case, that still leaves her with 15 billion dollars lol.

So, it's kind of hard to argue that she wasn't entitled to at least that percentage of his money (12.5%) and she probably isn't a bad person or anything but creating a totally fake narrative to defend it is just ridiculous.
