Lmao imagine being so humorless that not only do you not understand certain types of humor, but you actively seek and destroy humor elsewhere that you don't understand. src
In the 80s and 90s hollywood made big money by making "stupid fucking russians get their furry hat wearing asses handed to them by real americans" about seventy five thousand times. They usually didn't even bother mixing up the plot. This is the exact same thing except instead of real americans it's diverse stereotypes who are entirely cold and calculating unless someone says something racist, at which point they just murder the fuck out of about 20 people (but it's okay because they're good guys).
Lots of money to be had in stomping on the corpses of enemies you defeated long ago.
The newer Wolfenstein games handle this premise amazingly, it's still propaganda like you described but taken to such an absurd degree that it's hilarious
I assume anything involving Nazis that gets made today will have the characters look at the screen and go "Hmm not so different from how things are today is it? Rlly makes u think huh?
My problem with it is that if they want to do an alternate history type thing, just go balls to the wall with it.
You want women soldiers storming Normandy? Fine. But you better give the Nazis mechanized fursuits, throw in some ninjas, and reveal an oribital death laser at some point.
There's that movie Overlord which is about nazi zombies and the squad of Americans is led by a black guy. I was thinking that they should have made it alternate history where Africa was as advanced as Asia and Europe so there was no slavery but also the zombies were created by an African working for the nazis.
i fucking hate people who think having "politics" in media means you have to shoehorn references to real life current american politics into whatever scenario

Isn't that just Inglorious Basterds?
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-11-22
I want Inglorious Basterds but Eli Roth catches a rock from a 10 year old Palestinian and his head explodes after screaming “ENWURD”.
1 Slump_o 2019-11-22
n word?
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-11-22
Ya, what’s up?
1 Slump_o 2019-11-22
why would he scream “nword”
1 TaysSecondGussy 2019-11-22
Because it’s a Tarantino movie, but he is a good guy so he won’t really say it.
1 QuadNarca 2019-11-22
That's why I didn't like that movie they made it seem like that the nazis were the bad guys. Why do libtards put politics in my Tarantino movie.

That's a good message for drama.

The Japanese knows where it's at, if you're going to have female soldiers in WWII you better have shit like mechs, magic, and demons at the same time

I could see a cinematic game from a German. Soldiers view unironically work. Like make the player feel the hopelessness on the eastern front.

"Us" was extremely overrated and was a shit horror movie change my mind.
1 necrocannibal2 2019-11-22
so was Get Out
1 NotoriousChenposter 2019-11-22
I liked Us. Get out sucks.
Both are extremely overrated.
1 Babybear_Dramabear 2019-11-22
I feel the opposite way. I liked Get Out but thought Us was trash.
1 Kellere31 2019-11-22
It was neither shit nor super good. Us was a 5/10 and Get out a 6/10.
1 Babybear_Dramabear 2019-11-22
Sounds about right I might even bump Get Out to a 7.
