Day of the jar

I respect hunting for food, but show me a person who can take a deer with a knife, then I'm impressed.

Dunno about deer but people do knife hunt hogs. You usually need to bring 2 or 3 dogs that will tank for you and probably die as you cut the boar down in a frenzy

bullshit

Just google it you can find videos of people doing it, though the ones I’ve seen all feature a guide who assists the hunter for safety. It’s apparently boomed in popularity in Hawaii over the last decade. Basically you use the dogs to fence in the hog so you can ambush it and stab it in the heart if things go as planned. Apparently there was an OSU football player who would wrestle and stick the hogs solo.

For obvious reasons you wouldn’t do this in an area with a huge infestation

I'll check it out, but I'm doubting any hunter will knowlingly sacrifice the dog

Well yea I probably overreached saying they will probably always die that’s just a worse case scenario. especially since they make specialized anti boar armor for dogs!

I do appreciate this aside in that article:

However, they're not welcome at every hunting ground, particularly if they're aggressive enough that they may hurt other animals. Remember that you're responsible for your dogs' actions. Likewise, disciplining another hunter's dogs may be a breach of etiquette. If a dog is dangerously out of control, get it safely leashed, but then wait for the owner to take over

I would never sacrifice my dogs. The very idea pisses me off.
