As a landlord, with all the rent scamming, squatting, property damage, cat/dog hoarding, unregistered vehicle farming, theft, and illegal dumping... I'm 86ing that section of my portfolio once my last tenant moves out. Background checks, credit scores, proof of employment are all necessary. A 200 credit score unemployable pothead who still owes the local utility company $1500 is not a good choice.

Yeah, same. My parents rent out a small flat that we used to live in to help finance me and my sister to study in university. This meme is more about rich, greedy and predetory landlords raking it in by virtue of them owning expensive property than your average joe renting out some cheap property as supplemental income to make ends meet.
