In the latest of coronavirus's casualties, crude oil straight up implodes and divebombs into the negatives. Literally, the negatives. As I'm typing, it's at negative 38 dollars a barrel.

I think everybody knows that the best way to push up the oil price is a war in the Middle East. So, what are the betting odds of an (((Iranian))) attack on a US Navy ship?

Just lurk, take in all the advice, and do the opposite of what they do. You can make millions.

It's never been truer than it is in that thread. Inversing them is guaranteed to save you a minimum of $375k. That's a lot of scratch.

Time to sell an oil tanker

Jannies rejoice, finally something you can invest your redditbucks in!

Breakdown for the average dramatard:

When Saudi is producing as much oil as possible and consumption is at a near all time low you run out of places to put it. The price goes down, nobody can buy it because they have nowhere to put it.

That sounds like quitting, you just have to diversify your target demo. Something like this:

Crude oil. The life forces of ancient organisms vibrate strong enough to power your car, but what else can this amazing NATURAL compound do for you? New reports are excited to say it makes you look and feel younger, restores the bodie’s thermodynamic homostasis, blocks harmful 5G waves, coronaviruses, and negative energy, and;, promotes selfhealing. Zero chemicals. Zero GMO. Just nature’s own mana.

Ten buckets and the right Facebook targeting and I would be using corona bux for toilet paper.

GOOD idea

I'll take a barrel.

Finally some fucking sanity

HEY RETARDS THIS IS SHORT TERM IF YOU LIVE NEAR A WELL AND HAVE A SWIMMING POOL, MOVE

Can't you just stop pumping?

That can damage or kill the well.

No, I meant you personally.

That can damage or kill the well.

Oh I see.

Never stop pumping.

Isn't crashing oil prices how the apocalypse in Mad Max started?

No Mad Max started because of an oil shortage, leading humanity to burn water for fuel, which leads to a water shortage which leads to Nuclear War. This is completely different.

Accurate flair

BZZZT WRONG!

Original Mad Max wasn't even post-apocalyptic. It just looked that way because Australia is a shithole. Director just went with that and retconned it into later movies.

The original mad max was actually a documentary about a day in the life of an australian.

No way, not enough acts of racism in the movie.

Mel Gibson sure made up for that later.

Not enough tbqh

There weren't any non-white people to be racist to

If it's retconned, why would you even bother mentioning the old lore outside of as trivia? The new franchise explicitly lays out the line of events that I mentioned in the beginning.

The post-apocalypse movie that every other post-apocalypse rips off. For some reason, they think the collapse of civilization is going to lead to roaming gangs of bandits and raiders forever. There used to be variety in the post-apocalypse back when the threat of nuclear annihilation was everywhere.

Mad Max is a movie about a truck driver named Furiosa and her adventures on the open highway.

Wasn't it like, mid-apocalypse?

Good god real life is not a movie please relocate yourself to reddit

No.

Buy low sell high.

Buy at 0 sell at 0

Oh good, even the jannies can buy in!

GUH

Did somebody say bonfire?

yay cheap gas! Gonna fill my tank up for like $20. Sweet.

Real talk, why doesn't some doomer just buy up a fuckton of this, and store it in a fireproof shed and just use it as his car fuel for the next few months?

It has to be refined into gasoline and gasoline breaks down pretty rapidly even if stored under ideal conditions. You still see cars used in dumb shit like the walking dead only cause AMC wants to milk the koreans for that product placement money.

A halfway intelligent prepper would probably use wood gas or a tesla.

Today’s gasoline is junk after 3-4 months. That said it has nothing to do with the gasoline. It’s the ethanol that makes it turn. Non-ethanol gasoline lasts for well over a year or two but there aren’t many stations that sell it anymore.

Before anybody asks, non-ethanol is good for classics cars or stuff that sits around, like a lawnmower.

What about diesel?

Diesel doesn’t have ethanol. Pretty sure diesel lasts for a much longer time than even non ethanol fuel. It’s closer to oil than gasoline.

It's crude oil. You can't even use it to lube your engine let alone fuel it.

Nah I mean just buying super cheap gas at the station

I think I would rather pay the extra quarter a gallon later than do all that work.

It smells pretty great tbh.

Because it's expensive to store it safely.

safely

Can I get my 6000SUX now?

I'd buy that for a dollar.

So the Saudis have just shot themselves in the foot by deliberately flooding the market when everyone is stuck inside?

Yeah i dont really understand it either. I doubt this is the case, im just too stupid to see the full picture here.

What makes me curious is none of the political fart sniffers and turd lickers seemed to be peeved about this at all. I havent seen all that much outrage from anyone at whats happening it feels like theyre in on it somehow.

They may see this as a long-term opportunity to wipe out the US oil industry that's been building up rapidly in the last decade. But I can't claim to really know wtf is going on.

>negative price

Economy still manages to confuse me
