So I've seen about 3 MDE sketches and I don't get why everyone seems to hate the show and Sam Hyde, and I don't get why MDE fans seem so removed from the tone of the sketches I've seen. They seem kinda like Chapos in that way and it's a phenomenon I don't really understand.

Sam Hyde at his peak was just a mediocre sketch comedian that sometimes made Jew jokes. It's hands-down the lamest state in the USA. Everything it lays claim to (except for maybe the biggest middling party school) is a shittier version of what other states have:

• Scenery - take your pick of Southwestern states aside from Nevada
• Outdoor activities - take your pick of any non-Midwestern state
• Cities and Suburbs - literally only Nevada has worse sprawling hellscapes than Ariz*na
• Personal space - New Mexico is the king of fucking off to the middle of nowhere, and as for homes, New Mexico has beautiful adobe buildings while everyone in Arizona has to brag about their horrible mass-produced ranch abominations
• Personal freedoms - if you're obsessed with muh freedoms (i.e. guns) then just move to fucking Idaho and join a militia, at least it's pretty there
• Food - For direct cuisine comparison, New Mexico and Colorado are so much better
• Retirement communities - Arizona is literally for people who can't afford Florida
