I visited the US once. I went to a conference in Salt Lake City. Apparently, that's a relatively fat part of the country.
You can have your moon landing, your global military and cultural hegemony, I literally don't care. As soon as I saw half a dozen ham-planets in mobility scooters waiting in queue at a Walmart, I knew that this whole country is a meme, and I knew Ameritards had no legs to stand on.
It's actually crazy how unprepared an average "yuro" is for actual America. We've all seen this shit on TV or whatever but when I first arrived in America, actually seeing a 150 kg ball of human flesh rolling down the street was still a bit of a system shock. By the twelfth time you sort of get used to it but at first - it feels kind of surreal.
I ended up in Texas once, but in a quite nice area (to my shithole standards). Somehow it was full of white blonde skinny women, steamy latinx mamasitas and typical skinny eastern european Natashas. I think the sun just kills them in the south, so they stay at home 24/7 and don't spoil your view as much.
Compared to the UK - perhaps ;) but burgerland actually has higher rates of obesity in the southern part of the country, probably precisely because of that. If it's fucking -40C outside (as it is in Eastern Europe during the winter) you either move or die, and if it's +40C, you move - you die.
We just bully fat people relentlessly in the East. You’re gonna get the nickname Fat or Lardy for the rest of your life. We also bully ugly people. I knew a girl whose nickname was “The war” as in “as ugly as a war”
Yeah we definitely love fatty, fried, monochromatic foods in the south. Biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, potatoes in all their forms, and dear lord the PORTIONS.
The fact that I'm not the size of a house after living in Texas for most of my life is almost impressive.
Not to mention Mexican food. San Antonio is statistically one of the fattest cities in the country.

when I went on holiday to california 5 or so years ago, it was more common to see an emaciated icehead than a deathfat... Most everyone in that coastal region in southern california was a rail thin nerd or some roided out gymrat.
Didn't see too many fatties except for old mexican ladies.. Till a tourist bus pulled into the car park at the seaworld we were visiting with loud southern accents waddling off. Never have I seen so many fat people in one place in my life.
In england and where I live now; australia; most landwhales are umemployed dolebludgers who never leave their councilhouses, never so much as waddling to woolies, having everything delivered. Fatties in america really seem to get around given their mass.
Yuro anecdotes about normal Americans are all well and good but for some reason I don't see any burgers disputing my findings ;). There must have been plenty that have seen it by now, yet for some odd reason not one of them wants to claim that I'm a liar ;)
There's a place literally called Cobalt, ontario, and the stores are built on top of old mine shafts. At the butcher shops they would lower meat down into the mine to keep them cold.
“When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean, I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”
Not all fatties get corona but if you are fat your chance of dying is way higher. Friend's mom is a nurse and she says it's almost 100% fat people in their 40s-50s.
If you're exaggerating massively for comedic effect - just call me a retard and I'll move on.
...but, you're definitely dramatising it somewhat. They have plenty of normal-looking people over in the burgerland, and though they have a considerably different definition of what constitutes "average" (it's kind of a cope, I guess, for somewhat overweight people), it's not like all of them are this way.
I am not even exaggerating, just look at reddit an overweight women will post a picture of herself and burgerlanders are like "wow you're so healthy", a healthy looking woman posts a picture and the comments are always "damn, you need to eat a burger", "you look unhealthy", "do you have an eating disorder"
Just think about it, like 80% of adult American women are overweight, what do you think "normal" looks like?
70% of my fellow Adult Americans are overweight. LOL FUCK.

I just don't really see them switching the normal to the extent you're describing... Either you have a different understanding of "normal" and "overweight" (perhaps you're into surfboards) or I somehow missed a shift that must have happened very recently.
I hate to be "that sauce guy", but can you show me a mainstream example? Reddit or something? I'm not being a dick doing cope, I could be considered underweight myself, it's just that I don't see what you described anywhere online outside of specifically "fat-friendly" spaces...

There was a special section on a news website with all of the Rona deaths. I deliberately looked at the "in memoriam" photos of the people under 50. They were all fattie boombahs. Every single one was unhealthy-fat.
Also the “as a medical anthropologist I raise serious eyebrows at the concept...of this article”. First of all what the fuck is a medical anthropologist you clearly just made that up.
Recent examples of the kinds of studies undertaken by medical anthropologists include research into the impact of AIDS on Central African societies, the consequences of the traumas of war on families in Sri Lanka and Guatemala, the impact of the new reproductive technologies (for example, in vitro fertilisation) on British notions of 'the family', the impact of malnutrition on Brazilian ideas of children's illness, the appearance of new illnesses like multiple personality disorder and chronic fatigue (Gulf War Syndrome) and the effects of migration on the mental health of ethnic minority groups.
Sounds like a bunch of pseudo sociologists figuring out if AIDS, war and famine sucks as much anywhere else in the world. Astounding, really...
All that stuff is shit and it's shit to go through it. Gib PHD please. Reminds me of criminologists on serial killer programmes who talk about how being dressed up as a girl and forced to watch your mother whore herself out causes problems with women.
Odd, but their whininess is reminiscent of those whiny mаyos yelling at everyone to stay indoors for several consecutive weeks 🤔🤔 I sure hope they've been having regular exercise the past few months
(Seriouspost) My only guess would be that they investigate cultures and time periods to see what medicine they practiced; stuff like TCM (traditional chinese medicine), Ayurveda (Indian), Kanpo (Japanese), whatever native americans used, etc. It's honestly an interesting field, seeing commonalities between ancient cultures in how they approach health and wellness. Can find some cool stuff too, like how garlic was the first antibacterial agent used in Greece and they just rubbed that shit into wounds to disinfect them.
But it gives you about as much authority on obesity as a plumber has on cancer treatments; jack shit.
Also the “as a medical anthropologist I raise serious eyebrows at the concept...of this article”. First of all what the fuck is a medical anthropologist you clearly just made that up.
Hi, I'm a chonk. The people in that thread all seem to be reprobates. I work in healthcare and I can confirm that the vast majority of healthcare staff, including chonks, say that being fat is bad. It is. It leads to an early death. Increased risk of pretty much everything there is to catch and generally worse symptoms of diseases. Increased cardiovascular disease risk as well as increased heart attack and stroke risk. Also commonly forgotten but seen is mobility issues. Being a chonk buts excess strain on skeleton and muscles. Back, knee and ankle pain are very common. God damn I hate people sometimes mostly all the people shown in that thread trying to say being fat isn't bad for you.
It could also be that they lose weight because of illnesses, happened to my grandmother. She was fat pretty much from childhood, lost weight after 60s, is now 85 and nowadays we have to constantly monitor her diet because she tends to undereat if left alone and will then collapse from low blood sugar.
Data indicates that COVID-19 patients with a BMI of 40 or higher (severe obesity) are at a significantly higher risk for both hospitalization and death. Nearly 10% of the U.S. population falls into that BMI range.
Its actually body muscle index and mine is off the charts. I was going to get the gastric surgery but the doc said I have too many muscles they can't cut through them.
Someone linked an opinion article that tried to debunk the day factor and instead blames it on socioeconomic reasons, institutional racism and fat phobia
Offensive photo choice. What other group of marginalized people would you publicly shame in this way?
I can't think of another marginalized group that chooses to be part of said group. Not only that but she's implying f*tties experience the same amount of discrimination as these other groups.
My favorite part is that even if you're an intersectional moron, privilege is by definition unearned. Thin people literally can't have privilege because they earn it.
The issue is there is a large part of that "community" that genuinely believes their obesity is no fault of their own and that helping someone lose weight is only possible through tormenting them physically and emotionally. So to them thin people didn't earn anything, they were simply gifted thin genes or don't have some made up disability that forces their body to balloon out.
Yeah, they have a language and shit. Ask any foreigner how it feels that their children learnt english, they'll seethe and cope despite it being the best way too secure a higher paying job other than being born white
I mean, there is a little bit of truth to that. There are such things as food deserts and poorer people in first world contributes make up the highest percentage of obese people, with poor access to cheap fruits and veggies it can be somewhat difficult to stay skinny. There are a lot of people who don’t really have much of an excuse though
Which would be fine and even probably somewhat close to some semblance of truth, if not for the fact that obesity is rapidly growing in pretty much the entire world, including places that haven't had any hunger since WW2 at the latest.
Either overweight people reproduce at a massively disproportionate rate, passing on their genes forward more and more in each generation (it'soverfor thincels!), or it's not all genetics now, is it?..
When I was in still in school, there was a primary teacher that looked exactly like that. He was unbelievably fat. It was awful. I didn't want to go anywhere near him. I remember slowly walking behind him once as he waddled along a narrow corridor, and had to listen to his strained panting and smell the foul BO emanating from his fucking rolls and his fat ass. Just gross.
That picture is not photoshopped, it is a real fucking representation of these hamplanet fucks. I firmly believe that we should start throwing these "people" into meat processors alongside the other shit in McDonalds patties. We'll see how much fast food garbage these disgusting fucks shovel into their faces then.

It's literally just a photo of a fatso sitting down, the only way that this is ridiculing or shaming is if you admit that being fat is shameful in and of itself.
To use your language, there is no “lifestyle change” shown to produce long-term, sustainable weight loss. There are ways to improve your health, which may even lead to weight loss, but the idea that you can make choices to intentionally shrink your body is a myth.
Not starvation but some fatsos have such crap diets that we're seeing a resurgence of diseases like gout and scurvy caused by too much red meat and to little vitamin c respectively.
The CDC report and NYU letter to the editor don’t control for diabetes or cardiovascular conditions, either, although these two likely risk factors for Covid-19 happen to be associated with higher BMI.
I know people circlejerk about correlation != causation, but higher BMI definitely causes those two things. "It's not being fat that makes COVID worse, it's these things being fat causes!"
Yeah it’s weird I didn’t notice that at first. They’re all like “this is shameful.” Like, what? They used a picture of a fat dude (or dudette, can’t tell with those types; the relevant organs either converge or are hidden) and said it might give you a higher risk of getting COVID. They weren’t like “ha look at this fatso”
People with PCOS who are too fat to defend themselves or run away are fun to abuse. I like to take a spoon, heat it up until it's glowing hot, then place it on the skin while they're asleep. The reaction when they wake up after the 25th time of being burned by a redhot piece of metal is amazing. You can literally piecemeal their mental stability down to complete insanity, then leave them in their own homes helpless and alone. :DDDDDDDDDD
To all my strong Aryan warriors that are traumatized by (((fake articles))) like these, please read @WhitePride1488's totally unbiased and true article instead: theholocaustisahoax.blogspot.ru
They're pure conspiracy theorists by this point, don't pay attention to reality because there's an organized conspiracy against us, just stay in our echo chamber reading wholesome pseudoscience to make you feel good.
I can’t believe people actually think being morbidly obese is normal and the problems it brings shouldn’t be addressed. It’s a lot like the single mom thing. They’re both terrible for people and society but they’re so sensitive they won’t listen to it

17 Calm-Investment 2020-07-28
Yeah. Their definition of "fat" and "healthy" are all kind of fucked up lmao. You can be disgustingly fat in the US and still be called thin.

13 Tzar-Romulo 2020-07-28
What would this even mean?
6 silverhydra 2020-07-28

34 markahkiin 2020-07-28
Data indicates that COVID-19 patients with a BMI of 40 or higher (severe obesity) are at a significantly higher risk for both hospitalization and death. Nearly 10% of the U.S. population falls into that BMI range.

My favorite part is that even if you're an intersectional moron, privilege is by definition unearned. Thin people literally can't have privilege because they earn it.
21 somestupidname1 2020-07-28
The issue is there is a large part of that "community" that genuinely believes their obesity is no fault of their own and that helping someone lose weight is only possible through tormenting them physically and emotionally. So to them thin people didn't earn anything, they were simply gifted thin genes or don't have some made up disability that forces their body to balloon out.

2 Unluckyducky73 2020-07-28
I mean, there is a little bit of truth to that. There are such things as food deserts and poorer people in first world contributes make up the highest percentage of obese people, with poor access to cheap fruits and veggies it can be somewhat difficult to stay skinny. There are a lot of people who don’t really have much of an excuse though
12 Fletch71011 2020-07-28
You literally have to not consume as much to lose weight. It's an education thing, not a poverty issue. They just happen to be intertwined.
1 istural 2020-07-28
Food deserts.

I remember that reddit cause.

As a reminder, every grocery store does sell fruits and vegetables, as well as chicken.
1 idio3 2020-07-28
Which would be fine and even probably somewhat close to some semblance of truth, if not for the fact that obesity is rapidly growing in pretty much the entire world, including places that haven't had any hunger since WW2 at the latest.
Either overweight people reproduce at a massively disproportionate rate, passing on their genes forward more and more in each generation (it's over for thincels!), or it's not all genetics now, is it?..
6 helegad 2020-07-28

:DDDDDDDDDD
