Twitter idiots don't realize the actual distinction is between low class and high class names. No one's talking about screening Andres and Dariuses. And you bet they screen Billy-bobs or Cleetuses.
I mean mom gave me a "white" first and middle names because she was worried about discrimination. She has an islamic first name and so do her siblings for the record.
And I'm god damn thankful. I'm crazy enough without name drama
A lot of these people freaking out also appear to be the target of said advice, and their reactions seemingly reinforce stereotypes associated with stupid naming conventions lmao
Why is this so hard to understand? I worked with a dude once whose real name was BUBBA, however he wisely went by the name Brent.
Had to be careful knowing the amount of people upvoting Lawlposting also probably worship the movie Forrest Gump for having the most relatable protagonist.
Lmao the twitter handle is RevampedCP "A career resource dedicated to helping people strengthen their applications & land jobs that make them feel fulfilled."
Seems like maybe this advice hit a little to close to home.
I don't see what's wrong with this, you can understand it's wrong and want to change it but that doesn't mean you shouldn't think about yourself and try to game the system. Honestly if someone had a 'hood name' and tried to hide it, it would show that you're doing everything you can to get a job and it might even be a benefit.
if you look at society and see that most powerful people are named shit like kyle, daryl, suzan, mike, john, elizabeth, etc and choose to name your kid, "Scerikality" - that's on you
and yeah it's not fair that you have to do that, but life isn't fair. do you want your kid to be happy and successful or do you want to make a point
On the one hand, judging someone because they don't have a "White name" is definitely racist. On the other hand, this tweet is 10,000,000,000% correct, and the Jews and Asians have both proven it.
When Jewish people were immigrating to America en masse, they all started taking Anglicized names, while still having a Hebrew name as well. Asians do the same thing, having a name from their country of origin that goes on their birth certificate, but using an "American" name in their day-to-day life.
Should they have to do this? No, White people should learn to pronounce things more complicated than Tom, Dick, and Harry. But since we all know that's not gonna happen, sometimes you've just gotta shut up and call yourself "Bob".
This guy corporates. You need to bring in a Laqueesha or two, and if you have to fire them which you probably will you better make damn sure your documentation of them fucking up repeatedly is air tight.
The Laqueeshas that manage to hit their targets and show up on time are made of pure gold, keep those happy and make sure they're front and center.
On the one hand, probably not best hiring Laqueetha to manage your accounting, so she's right. On the other hand, the fact that she put this publicly on tiktok makes her look dumb af.
Nah this ain't real. Verified documentation of discriminatory practices opens a business up to lawsuits from everyone who wasn't horses and the NAACP. This ho is either lying or has a vendetta against her former employer
That would be amazing if it's fake and she's trying to get her old employer cancelled lmao The twatter mobs don't think before cancelling so it will likely work.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if the admins consider saying "slay" to be inciting violence.

Having a retarded name doesnt help with getting a job because its evidence you and your parents are fucking retards.
Nobody is hiring Moonbeam mayo children either.

I can't wait for the day when I get to ball up and free throw every single Khaleesi resume that lands upon my desk.

The ones with the really r-slurred names are the ones you pad your interview quota with just because you want to see just how weird they might be.

yeah you think we mongoloids like being called "Nancy" or "Jim"? we assimilate or die
1 Rivea_ 2021-02-22
Very true. These days if the news article I'm reading isn't authored by a wein-, -berg, -stein, or -witz then I'm just going to ignore it.
1 wizdumb337 2021-02-22
Usually you make sure to keep at least 25% of those resumes then let the background check knock those 200 you kept down to about 20.

Document document document. Also the old adage of HR isn't your friend and is out to protect the company never ever needs forgotten.

I'd say this ho is most likely a cashier at a gas station. She made this for the negative clickbait views she's getting on tik tok
1 Lysis10 2021-02-22
That's a good point. I am interested in what twatter comes up with when they dox her.
I've known black people who dislike hoodrats but claiming to be HR and saying this shit is pretty dumb. I hope for her sake you are right.

Nobody has more to say about hood culture than any black individual over the age of 40. Especially working class blacks.
