I see no problem with this take. The second amendment should be a mandate and a CCW should be a prerequisite for a driver's license. I know it works, too. I've run advanced research simulations.
One of my best ever games of Dwarf Fortress was successful because I enforced the dwarven second amendment. Every citizen was assigned an axe or a pick, and it was great. Minor to medium threats were often neutralized before I even realized they were on the screen, let alone had time to rally the militia, and most interdwarf disputes quickly ended in murder rather than becoming brawls big enough to trigger loyalty cascades or tantrum spirals. The moral is simple: arm the kids

Not saying anyone stealing guns is up to any good but I do think it's inevitable that you create this kind of conflict when you make it so difficult to own guns/weed/etc
