It's amazing George caused more social activism than almost any college educated progressive ever could, all while on fent. I think there's a lesson about the working class banding together in there somewhere.
That's what I am saying. How did you not get that? My point is Chauvin's actions were so gross, so negligent, that it captivated the world. Not in Good way. There were other catalysts too. The murder of Breonna Taylor. Before that the murder of Ahmed Arbery which also had issues of government corruption.
I'd still be surprised if the officer doesn't get charged with at least manslaughter when he was clearly filmed having a guy die with the officer's knee on his neck shortly after said casualty was saying he couldn't breathe.
I think his best chance of getting convicted of anything is the lesser charge of manslaughter. Not because hes quilty of it just because the jurors think he needs something.
But dont worry! if youre a "teen" living in a urban center you can kill immigrant uber drivers and boardwalk shop owners freely and be back on the street by the evening!
Not because hes quilty of it just because the jurors think he needs something.
I don't see how he isn't guilty of manslaughter. Even if Floyd was overdosing, even partially cutting blood off from his brain is going to seriously exacerbate the health risk.
His defense sucks too. His defense lawyer's only argument is legit just "my client was scared because people were yelling at him that he was killing Floyd and also cars were driving by".
im on the other side, it was a total fucking slaughter of the defense attorney against that fucking mma fighter.
you know you arent supposed to have notes to reference when the defense was doing this right? he let him look at fucking notes to remember some agents names (that the defense already knows)
made the mma guy look dumb as hell. and well, the mma guy is, because wow surprise taking head shots makes you dumb. the mma guy was also like 6 and 15 or some shit, like a 30% win record
Because you have to prove a certain level of disregard for the life of the victim. Which is why the defense is harping alot on the calls made by the onsite team for EMS and then stepping up the level of EMS by the minute.
Its clearly up for debate but i personally dont see it.
If Floyd actually told the officers that he had a bunch of drugs, then wouldn't that work against them? They knowingly kept a potentially ODing person in a neck hold for that long, even after the guy passed out.
The fact that it's so hard to tell what he said, as evidenced by the witness himself saying he's not sure what exactly he said, and the earlier discussions about how distracting and loud the situation was, is intended to defend against both murder and manslaughter - wasn't murder because he was ODing, wasn't manslaughter because the crowd and other chaos made it too hard for the officers to properly assess the situation.
Yet you acknowledged that the witness could not make out what was being said β neither can I, because it is unintelligible β as if this strengthened the defense's argument. The defense that this establishes that the situation was chaotic, which is already known, and that Chauvin was unable to properly assess the situation is predicated on the idea that Floyd was undergoing an overdose that was not properly treated, and did not just die from neck and chest compression.
This clip on its own is worthless for establishing the latter. It does not need to be established that Floyd overdosed, or that it was the most likely an overdose, just that it is a possibility that it could have been, to a jury of laymen and not medical doctors. They are obviously presenting any information, no matter how specious, in an attempt to muddy the waters. But I personally wouldn't call this sound evidence.
If you disagree that what I said is the defense's reason for going down the line of questioning that they did, go ahead and offer your theory for why they did that.
It's another in a series of bad-faith attempts to muddy the waters and create doubt as to the cause of his death. Once you recognize the fact that Chauvin's actions have been established to be contrary to his training, proper police conduct, and department policy, as the Police Chief testified to [1], and most likely not attributable to a drug overdose, as testified to by a physician who attempted to treat Floyd [2] and broadly agreed upon by medical experts [3], the best way to defend him becomes to equivocate and try to establish some degree of confusion, and from that, doubt, in the minds of laymen jurors. I agree that they are trying to establish this doubt, but I disagree that the testimony of the witness aided their case, that this evidence is substantive in any manner, or that the alleged 'chaotic' nature of the interaction has been established or is that relevant of a factor.
13 and 15 year olds are teens, there is no need for quotes. And theyβre clearly looking at some time, judging by the plea deal that people are whining about.
Pro tip. You can tell who is a teen and who is not by the last 4 letters of their age written out. This may take some time to remember for every day use so I recommend writing it down but the 4 letters are T, E, E and N. For example, thirteen? That's a teen. Nineteen? That's also a teen. Twenty? Nope! Not a teen.
You continue to behave like the rightoid version of the braindead leftoids you despise so much, yet consistently come out as even more detached from reality somehow.
Oh yea, the guy definitely is going down for a manslaughter and even a third degree charge. I have no idea how the prosecution thinks they can slide in a second degree murder charge though.
I'm pretty sure the second degree charge was added on after public outcry.
Also tier list:
S tier Drama: Acquitted - Large protests / riots. Summer of Drama pt. 2. Twitter becomes unusable for weeks, multi-national companies pledge undying allegiance to Daddy Floyd, the richest people in the world call for a justice system overhaul. BONUS: Dementia Father (D) undermines the judicial by saying the verdict was wrong (See Trudeau for the blueprint) and Dementia Father (R) announcing open season on rioters. Rightoids smug post and get deplatformed for making jokes. ULTIMATE BONUS DRAMA: Chauvin gets released and shoots the first melanin-enriched individual who tries to take justice into his own hands by trespassing or something.
A tier Drama: 2nd Degree - Leftoid smug posting Justice Served TM, a step in the right direction but not enough. Rightoids on full seethe and damage control, justice is dead in America, the wokies have won, it's over.
B tier Drama: Only manslaughter - Small protests, leftoid screech posts. Rightoids mildly fuming about the Justice system placating to the social justice mob
π΄ tier Drama: 3rd degree - fuming rightoid internet posts about the justice system, possibly some doxxing of the judge to find a leftoid thing he said. leftoid twitter posts about how this is a step in the right direction but not good enough (This is the worst drama scenario)
Third degree. Been pretty obvious from the outset, it is quite fitting.
(a) Whoever, without intent to effect the death of any person, causes the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life, is guilty of murder in the third degree and may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than 25 years.
The manslaughter statutes don't fit nearly as neatly into the fact pattern. We could pull a reverse OJ and see the jury return a 2nd degree, but I'm very doubtful. From the talk around the lawtercooler it doesn't seem the trial is going well for Chauvin, not surprising, but there hasn't been much for intent to kill. Second degree is only permitted in unintentional killings when done in pair with a felony or with the victim being under a protective order.

George didn't. Chauvin and the person filming did. The way he acted was just gross. In a 1st world nation, in the public.
7 Detective_Fallacy 2021-04-07
Yeah but that was still no reason to choke him like that.

Yeah, nothing happens if they find him guilty. The rightoids get cowed really easily.
Bunch of pussies, frankly. The way they let themselves get shut down post-Capitol has been pathetic.

It wasn't murder because he was overdosing, as established by an audio clip that you yourself admit is basically inaudible?

It's obviously much easier to make out what he was saying when you can adjust the volume and play it as many times as you'd like.
